SuperJude wrote: SJ! I concur with the assessment, particularly the rubbing it in people's faces part. It really did him in in a lot of ways. He says it was about winning, but that was incidental. For him it was about him showing everyone how much smarter he is than them. This is why he did a very poor job of keeping his own secrets. When he found the idol, the satisfaction of finding it wasn't enough - he had to tell people he had it (btw I disagree with your assessment of Dave - I think he might be the poorest player I've seen in a long time as shown when he a) targeted the guy who very well could've had the idol first and b) openly told someone - John - that they were going to make him a vote target)). Anyhow, Russell had to tell his whole alliance about the fact that he was so wealthy and successful - we were shown him telling Nick, but it seems pretty clear later on that he told Jaison and Natalie as well. His braggadocio really did him in. I feel like I might have to rewatch the whole jury thing again - it really does seem like they wanted to set Russell up for a hard fall. I have to say that I had a completely different take on Dave's question - at least in hindsight. Yes, it was interesting and frankly the kind of question that would be a good staple for every jury moving forward. But I also think that he knew the answer ahead of time - that Russell would naturally assign himself the highest percentage - and he wanted Russell's overconfidence to be expressed yet again as it would feel that much better when they voted him down. Erik's statement goes hand-in-hand really - he simultaneously wanted to build Natalie up to make sure she felt worthy but also (imo) to give America a sense of what the jury's thinking was. Jaison's question, although perhaps asked as a means of persuading the jury, still has merit if the jury is predecided - by basically making the statement that what somebody makes monetarily is not important he is also setting up Russell to be overconfident before the smackdown. (Btw, it was funny how he sorta built up Natalie's income with no evidence - I think she was clearly the least wealthy when you factor in Nick's earning potential - and I think the jury understood that.) I also think it was a way for Jaison to simultaneously put down Russell's game play - this isn't some sort of pity vote, we want you to feel you were outplayed Russell! Btw, I have to say I loved the interesting juxtaposition of Shambo - who has a bumpkin sort of image - throwing the word feckless out there and doctor boy having no idea what it meant. Classic :) As for Natalie's backup plan, to keep this on track, I actually think her pulling a Chris wouldn't have been impossible. Clearly Galu could not get out of its own way - I could actually see her hopping on the train as a swing vote a number of times and as the least physically imposing she probably had a legit chance to pull that game play. So there you go - on topic bitches! -QG
