Why no family visit this season? |

I was hoping to see Brett's boyfriend help Brett hold onto his large erect pole.

So much of Samoa's production felt phoned in and cheap. The challenges were extremely simple (that F5 Immunity was a joke), and the rewards were not as
lavish as seasons past. I really think they just decided to spend as little as they could on Samoa and save most of their money and effort for Heroes vs.
Villains, which filmed mere weeks after. The family visits are expensive, since they have to fly everyone down there, so I think they just decided to do it on
Heroes vs. Villains instead.

Yeah, it was definitely budget cut season. An unprecedented level of running back and forth and building a puzzle.

I thought Brett wanted Mick to be his boyfriend.

I got sick of family visits after they started allowing everyone to basically spend time with their families. I liked it when ONE person won and u got to see a
little bit into that one relationship. I could have done without a family visit in tocantins/gabon/fvf but i really would have enjoyed one in Samoa. It would
have been awesome to see some humanity out of Russell. Brett and Natalie would have been touching to see. And Shambo's edit of someone who was outcasted
and never fit in would have made a nice full circle to her edit and boot episode.

They had no family visit because these players have no families. They are bot-clones manufactured in Lynne Spillmans basement in Hollywood California. They
have no souls.

I agree that this season was really low budget. I mean, it had only THREE Reward Challenges after the merge. And none of them were individual.
I hope HvV has some amazing challenges and a great family visit then. |

Brett is a young gay man, he`s not yet an expert in holding poles. His natural talent made for good suspence tho, when he battled it out with Russ at the
end...
His gay friends sure had a good laugh when they were watching that episode over tea & biscuits. "Brett, you win all immunities and lose the final one when it came to holding poles for as long as possible!?!?!?!?!?!" lol (Disclaimer: I kissed a guy before. Not a homophobe, just wasnt for me. Post written in good fun.) |

Oh, and I`m glad there was no family visit. 10min of pathetic crying after you havent seen them for less than a month. Talk about attention whores. A gem once
in a while (Coach streching it out with Cocoach or the Fairplay one) doesnt justify the same crap each season. It`s a bore...

OMG good point. This season was RIGGED against Russell. His wife visiting would have humanized him to the jury.

My hope is that they were so busy making H vs V sooo great with so many reward challenges and such massive cool eps that they just kinda got behind and let
somoa slide, I like the family visit eps and I like the rewards

micronesia wrote: There really was a family visit they just edited it out as it became 6 hours of everyone asking Russell's wife: "Really, you married THAT guy?!?" Actually it is a bit of an interesting side note in that without the family visit they really did leave us a bunch of cartoonishly 1-dimensional characters. I'm amazed that people got that invested in the outcome when you consider that. The funny part is that even in the edits, I can't recall any players really talking about missing their families. Guess for the mactors it's just like going away on a long photoshoot or somethin' -QG |

I can't recall any players really talking about missing their families. Guess for the mactors it's just like going away on a long photoshoot or somethin' The amount of family missing is usually over the top anyway. Seriously, who hasn't been away from their families for 30 days at one point in their lives? |

I always hated the family visits because it is such dopey bull shit. I could see if it was 3 years away but not 30 freaking days. It would have been cool to
see Russell's wife out there.
