Has there ever been a remake of a documentary before the Grey Gardens with Drew Barrymore?
That shit was strange, yo.

Was little Edi autistic? Did she wear a scarf to hide her grey, thinning (??) hair? Were they both retarded?

I was going to admit to having watched He's Just Not That Into You and suck it up and take the fallout like a man.
This makes me feel so much better. |

They'd run through all the money they had, and refused to sell that white elephant of a home, so she was forced to devise all those hair coverings with whatever she had lying about that crumbling abode. From what I've read on the family the mom was the more mentally ill of the two but she did manage to mess up Edie pretty good. The youngest of Edie's siblings died in his early 20s from alcoholism so I assume they had a pretty crappy childhood with the diva mom and the deserting dad and being unable to accept that they'd lost their fortune continued to play upper crust ladies of leisure that lunch. We'd have never heard of these two if they'd not been related to Jackie O. Jackie tried to sweep to hide them in the closet with the rest of her skeletons but wasn't quick enough and was in a way publicly blackmailed into assisting them to get the needed repairs before the home was condemned from underneath them. |

I LOL'd at the part of the movie when Edie asked Jackie if it's true that Jack gave her gonorrhea.

The movie was good, the documentary was depressing.
I wonder who had to punch Drew in the jaw to keep that accent going. |

I really didn't think I would like the movie, but I did.
I have the documentary Grey Gardens plus The Beals of Grey Gardens which has extra footage. When I watch, I can't help wanting to grab them both and hug them. Poor crazy ladies. At least Little Edie got to do stage performances later in life. She wanted that SO much. |

Grey Gardens should have been on the A&E show Hoarders.
