Overall Finish: 3rd Place

Casting Story:
Recruited at a bar in Los Angeles after getting into an argument with his girlfriend (now fiance). He left to get some air and was approached at the bar while inebriated. He lied about all of the questions that were asked but was given a card to come in for an interview the next afternoon. He went in and then made it on the show.

Commentary:
He must have lied in the interviews too and made himself seem a lot more exciting than he really was because I think we ALL knew as soon as the cast was announced that he was going to be EXTREMELY boring and virtually devoid of personality. For some of us in Edgic, that made him an ideal winner candidate. Was he likable? Well, he wasn't un-likable, but he's so bland that it's hard to have an opinion of him one way or the other.

Personality/Character: Not much to say here. He rates extremely low in all of the criteria that I'm considering for this. Entertainment value is virtually non-existent and being the "boring hot guy" is no more excusable than being the "boring hot girl" like Sydney. We learned one thing about him all season, that he was a doctor.

Strategy: He did NOTHING during the game except for lay in the shelter. He was somehow elected as Foa Foa's leader on the first day, and like Erik said, he showed NO leadership in 39 days. The recap scene showed how inept he was and apparently he was disliked by a lot of the jury too (we never saw that). He was carried through the game by Russell in a way that no male castaway ever has before and became the first man to be the "Becky" or "Cassandra" in the Final Three. Then he would say that "part of me wants to make a big move and get rid of Russell." It must have been a very small part of him.

I gave him way too much credit. I actually thought he could pull out a win by stating that his strategy was to come into the game under the radar and play it cool and when he was chosen leader at the beginning, he had to take off the necklace because he knew that could be the death nail for him. He could have said that he knew playing quiet was the best way for him to get to the end, and like Natalie, he was smart enough to align with Russell, the most aggressive player because he knew Russell would make himself the target while he would be safe himself. The problem: he didn't say ANY of this at the final Tribal Council. Instead, he started talking about morals right away, which came out of nowhere and made no sense for him. He wasn't smart enough and didn't want to win the game enough to come up with a decent speech and his answers were utter garbage too. Granted, the questions weren't that great either.

Jeff got it right when he said Mick will never be asked back on Survivor again. Let us all hope that this is the case. With coming back on Survivor 20, we'll never be able to rest assured, however.

Sydney being a role model for all boring, hot mactor/mactresses everywhere <3

Anyway, I liked Mick. The personality that we did see of him was fun and I thought Mick's answer to Brett's question showed that he was pretty easy-going and at least able to show some personality. Plus he looked amazingly bangable at the reunion.

Mike Borassi should have been last and should be last on every list always and forever amen.

Right, he was easy-going. It just didn't make for a good TV character and I don't think he offered anything useful to the game.
