Remember the first season of Survivor, part of the charm was that unlike a real life boss, if a person who "ran things" acted obnoxious he would
actually pay a price. There was payback for offensive behavior, if a BB Anderson was full of himself he was gone, voted off the island. The jury in S19
wasn't bitter, they reached into the original spirit of the show, and didn't fell obligated to pretend that the lack of respect that Russell showed to
their faces was acceptable. Yes, it was jury nullification - but wouldn't we do the same thing to some obnoxious boss that we had to kowtow to if given
the chance? Someone who used us and gloated about it? Rest assured that the contemptuous, dismissive attitude that Russell showed in his confessionals would
have also carried over into his face to face interactions, that his assumption of superiority would rub them the wrong way.

You can be a Russell "fan" and still not think Natalie's win was wrong.
Hell, I am a fan because he was fun as hell to watch, saved this sucker from a boring pagong, and I don't think I have ever watched another human being stay that fucking focused on anything for such a long time. Fascinating to watch. I think we had a lot of likable and unlikable zen types this season and it would have been boring as hell to watch the spiritual talk and bonding. I'm a fan of Russ' partly because he saved us from that. Apparently much of the bonding that took place was in mini Bible study classes or while at prayer. Thank you editors for sparing us that! I don't give a flying fuck who wins the money unless they are planning on sharing it with me. I just want to be entertained and enjoy the show. He helped make that happen for me. Would I have voted for Russ to win it? Oh hell yeah. Do I care that the idiots on the jury went with Natalie? Oh hell no. I just hope this doesn't make future survivors play so under-the-radar that the show is canceled. Coattail can be a good strategy, but it's just not that interesting, and can't even happen if no one is out there to ride, because they don't want to end up like Russ. |

B.B. Andersen
Birth Date: January 18, 1906 / Age: 103 Birth Place: South Dakota, USA Biography: BB Andersen was a contestant on Survivor: Pulau Tiga, the first season of Survivor. He was a member of the Pagong tribe, and was the tribe's oldest member. He worked very hard on the shelter while other tribe members lazed around watching him. Eventually he became very disenchanted and asked the tribe to vote him out. They did so, and he later regretted it. BB went home immediately after being voted off, and was seen in a restaurant by reporters, meaning that he definitely was not the million dollar winner. In subsequent seasons, voted off contestants have not been allowed to come home. After his appearence on the shows, rumors circulated that BB had died, but the rumors were false.
