Elizabeth: *opens the letter she received earlier in the leg*
"Dearest Lizzy,
As I write this, I am fighting the drops of tears that are escaping my eye orbs. Mister Bingley's left for London, and it doesn't appear he will ever return. After my stay with you and Darcy on your journey and a subsequent one at his estate with a horrible cold, he left for London on business, and I have yet to hear or see him in some while.
I tried speaking with his sister, Caroline, but she has declined to offer me any solace, and it appears that Mister Bingley doesn't plan to return, and if she shall, he doesn't have any interest in my presense anymore. I'm afraid that my efforts were in vain, and I have lost the man I, dare I say? loved. He must have believed me to not have shown an interest, which as you are very much aware, is not the case. Perhaps it was that letter that Mister Darcy send to my Bingley, but I shall never know. I must move on, but this will be very difficult.
I wish you many good fortunes on your journey with that man Darcy.
Sincerely,
Jane"
Elizabeth: *soliloquy* How awful! If I were to ever meet Mister Bingley again in life, I will slit his throat and use his body to feed those unmentionables plaguing our countryside! How is it that such a charming man could be so callous? If there was indeed a letter written to Bingley from Darcy that convinced Bingley to depart from my sister, then this man shall pay for dishonouring our family name.
Darcy: *enters* Elizabeth? Care to speak with me for a brief moment in time?
Elizabeth: It depends if you care to speak with me for a brief moment of clarification.
Darcy: Clarification?
Elizabeth: I've received word from my sister, Jane, that Mister Bingley has left her.
Darcy: That is quite unfortunate. Allow me to express my condolences for your sister's broken heart.
Elizabeth: No, there's something else.
Darcy: Oh? And what's that?
Elizabeth: Did you not correspond with Mister Bingley with a letter to break his relationship with my eldest sister?
Darcy: She informed you.
Elizabeth: So it's true!
Darcy: Now that you have spoken, allow me to speak the words of vital importance. Miss Bennet...Elizabeth...Lizzy--
Elizabeth: *grits through teeth* Do not push your chances.
Darcy: From the start of this Race, I was drawn to your very being. It could have been the way your strong yet delicate form dispatched zombies with ease, or your strong opinions that so many find so offputting. But to me, Elizabeth, even if you are of interior birth and skills compared to mine own, you are very much the one that fates decided should be mine forever. *kneels and presents a ring* Elizabeth Bennet...will you marry me?
Elizabeth: Aghast!
Organ: DUN DUN DUN!!!!
1950's Announcer: Will Darcy hear a 'yes' from his proposal? Will Elizabeth fight him for his sister's honour? Does this look infected to you? Find out in the next leg of Avant Tai's TAR7!
