tonight I'm making a hot crab dip, bacon-wrapped scallops, smoked salmon on black bread with cream cheese & red onion, and a mushroom, shrimp &
saffron risotto.
tomorrow.. going to an uncle's house, and as far as I know, it's a de-boned turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed taters, mom's creamy cole slaw (for some reason a yearly necessity), cabbage rolls made by my gay uncle's Ukrainian partner, a roasted veg of some sort, then shortbread and lemon loaf for dessert. I cannot believe some of you buy the canned cranberry sauce when it's a snap to make!

Christmas Eve: Standing Rib Roast, Roasted Potatos & Carrots (soaking up the yummy, yummy beef juice), Yorkshire Puddings (or Hockey Pucks since they never
rise), Steamed Broccoli, Green Beans
Christmas Dinner: Turkey, and all the trimmings, including 3 kinds of stuffing. Boxing Day: Ham, Scallopped Potatos, Green Beans, & Corn Christmas is kind of like a 3 day ordeal of putting up with family. eta - and lefse with all 3. can't forget the lefse! |

tonight - pierogies
breakfast tomorrow - bagels, cream cheese, lox dinner tomorrow - rib roast, yorkshire pudding, peppercorn sauce, horseradish, roast potatoes, haricots vert (the little green bean) with crimini mushrooms (no gray, gloppy goopy soup crud), cheesecake drizzled with dark chocolate/milk chocolate/white chocoate and studded with toffee boxing day - awwwwwwwwwwwwll kinds of leftovers |

Everything is done except the gingerbread and that is in the oven. I've even packed it all for transport already. The kitchen is clean.
I'm going to make a pizza for dinner tonight. When the gingerbread is done I'll get in the shower, get into jammies, make a tshirt transfer, and then play Wii. |

My favorite thing at my sister's house was the seafood gumbo that was chock full of shrimp, lump crab meat and oysters. Totally delish. The red velvet cake
wasn't bad, either (that was my birthday cake).
