I don't mind a Top 36, what I didn't like was only the top 2 votegetters or whatever it was getting through. I much preferred the bottom 2 to leave which leaves room for underpimped contestants like Ricky Braddy who probably scored in the top 4 in voting to actually make it through and garner a fanbase. Then again, I don't know how they'd to a Top 18 down to top 6 so I guess it's not possible.

Last year sucked cause they cut people like Braddy and Tatiana who were the real talents of the season over contestants the producers thought would be embraced by the public if shoved down people's throats enough like that retarded Megan. thanfully, none of it panned out and people like Allison and Kris who weren't producer darlings made it far. But they all have been relative failures (with the exception of Adam who's done lukewarm) so I guess the season was a trainwreck from the show's perspective.

They are probably desperate for a female win like the rumours say cause their female winners (Kelly, Carrie, and Jordin) have created smash hits and names for themselves). Even Mantasia has been an Oprah favourite and a Broadway star and even had her own bio film. With David Cook being the exception, their male wins have been fails.
