Well that's the thing most people won't remember them so it'll feel like a new season to the public regardless. Casting will love it, makes their
job much easier. And for die hard fans its an interesting twist.

Yes, we need this!!! Then the final season can be a all winner edition. Fun fun.

apparently, the s22 really will be an other special season named "the second chance edition", and that season will be like s16, but not just with
pre-merge ex-survivos, the s22 will be with 8 pre-merge peoples vs 8 pos-merge ex-survivors (who never has participated after his original season), like a
second fansvsfavs to be more attractive for the survivor fans
and more, the location is not decided yet, but the production already visits implements locations on europe about the s21, will be a normal season with 18 peoples and the location is decided but i really don't have this information |

WylDawg wrote: A second chance season is not about "memorable characters" in the first place, Wyl. I don't get what's so hard to grasp about this. You don't need to remember them to enjoy the season. All we need to know as the audience is that these people failed miserably the first time and this is their shot at redemption. It's a great hook. The fact that casting has already seen them in action and knows what each person can potentially bring to the show is just another positive. |

Uh wrong. No memorable characters = no ratings. Point blank. But hell if Souna got more interesting over the last 10 years than im all for her coming back.

Initially I was opposed to the idea of a second chance season. Now I'm warming up to it though. S19 was cast with 20 all new people and it was a piece of
shit. So why not go for a second chance season? It might turn out to be really good.

the idea of Souna trying to climb up one of those A-frame walls they had in the first challenge of s19 makes me ROFL. So does the idea of her competing in the
schmergenbrawl challenge that killed Mike Borassi.

I don't get the logic that a cast of people that most viewers don't remember is any different than an entirely new cast. In fact, it could work even
better because there are well over 20 proven good characters that got out in the first six or so episodes. With a fresh cast, you don't know what
you're getting until you see them in action so someone who was great in casting could end up being a total dud. But you know that Robb Zbacnik is going to deliver. You know Sylvia's going to antagonize people. But at the same time you have little
idea as to how they approach the game. Could Silas really have managed to win Africa?
If they billed it as All-Stars 3 or something like that, then yeah, it wouldn't work at all. But like CSC said, they would push the redemption angle more than anything, and as mean-spirited as it would be, people would be curious to see which loser is unlucky enough to go home first again. And let's be real here; does anybody really think most of the audience remembered Eliza or Ami going into Micronesia? Come on. The audience overall didn't care about the casts of Vanuatu or Guatemala or Panama or Fiji or Tocantins and they still happened. People are making it sound like viewers will deliberately tune out because it's a second chance season. It's not likely to spur many additional viewers but do you really think anyone will start watching the premiere and be like, "Wait a second, that's Misty Giles from Survivor: Panama! She was the third person out, what the hell kind of a sick joke is this?" and turn the TV off? Please. |

beatles20147 wrote:Haha, I think a few random people would actually. Casual viewers are a lot more diversified than people here realize. There's someone out there who's already forgotten about Russell Hantz, but still remembers Shawna Mitchell from The Amazon. |

All-Stars, Guatemala, Micronesia, and Heroes vs. Villains were done to draw in fans because of the returning players. I don't think anyone is suggesting
that a second chance version would or should be promoted like those seasons. Instead, it would be a simple concept that would be a good nod to the hardcore
fans and produce a decent season with a potentially awesome cast for everyone else. The casual fans who stuck with Survivor through crap like Cook Islands and
Fiji aren't going to tune out just because early boot greats like Robb Z, Amy, and Sylvia are on their screens again. If anything, having a bunch of
people who imploded early could produce some major fireworks and give us a decent, if not totally awesome, season.
Besides, it's Survivor 22 and if the show has survived four seasons with returning players, Exile Island, Hidden Idols, luxury camps, tribes divided by race, and The Russell Show featuring Shambo... I think it can handle this. |

Jesus... We went from "We'll never do another All-Stars again!" to "Let's use every possible excuse to do an All-Stars variation every
other fucking season!" If the show goes another 10 years, you know we're guaranteed at least 5 returning contestant editions.

I would actually rather have Ashley from China, she had a great personality. Ashley from Samoa is cool. A little dull but cool.
