As far as Tom and Steph goes, it needs to be said that Gregg was heavily pushing for Steph to go and had been doing so for 6 days. When the women's allance fell through (because Caryn was the obvious fourth) it's natural that Jenn/Katie would head towards the only other person who'd been targetted, especially since Tom/Ian were already on board. I don't think having Steph there would've benefitted Tom much in terms of avoiding the target. I'd also say he was good enough strategically to avoid being the prime target until the Final Four.

JT's real mistake for a secure endgame was allowing Coach to go over Erinn, and even then he had Taj for safety at Four. Some extremely complex strategy would've been needed to remove him at Five or Four IMO, and Stephen has stated this on here.

And I've got a possibly better blunder for Todd (although the current one is fine with me)

At the Final 9 Todd decides to look into removing Jame's idols from the game. He and Amanda work everything out and then suddenly Jean Robert approaches Todd with the same plan.

In a wierd display of self importance Todd suddenly decides that Jean Robert has to go. Instead of James, who had TWO immunity idols and was physically strong. Instead of Peih Gee, was would later prove extremely difficult to remove. He targets strategic buffoon Jean Robert for having the same idea as him.

The way he structured the vote was poor and set himself up for a coup. Todd/Amanda/Courtney/James were voting JR. And outside of that they only told Frosti, not Denise. It would've been very easy for Frosti to gather JR and Denise, tell them JR is being booted and then unite this trio with the remaining two Zahn Hus. He got away with it only because how low China's cast ranks gameplay wise.

No matter what though, he really should've told Denise.
