Here, let me spell it out: We know that Russell thought he had no choice but to play the Idol the night Erik went home. He didn't believe that Galu were really going to vote Erik. So he had to play the idol. And his statement "Everybody knows I have it, so I might as well play it" was mere posturing. Yet the spoiler came down to missyae that when Russell played the idol, it wasn't in a situation where it really mattered. Yes, missyae heard the part about "I might as well play it," but the perspective was completely wrong. If Russell had been missyae's direct source, Russell would have explained his actual thinking. The fact that the spoiler came down from a bystander's point of view -- a bystander who didn't understand the situation enough to realize that Russell had to play the idol that night -- tells me not only that missyae's source was not Russell, but the source wasn't even one of the 12 players who participated in that Tribal Council and knew what exactly was at stake. I have no doubt that Russell gave the info to Missyae. Which doesn't make you correct.

Miss was even bold enough to say "Foa Foa to this day does not understand why Erik was voted out. But now that they saw he had the idol, it makes sense to them." Well, Galu didn't know Erik had the idol. The source is obviously a Foa Foa that made the merge. Production would know that Galu didn't realize Erik had the idol. Miss had a lot of negative comments about Natalie, such as how she was attached to Russell or how she would ask if there was hotel breaks. That clearly means its not Natalie (though he tried to throw Natalie under the bus). Excusing all the other things (such as the Sham/Russell TAR thing, how Russ was contacted for another season of survivor, how Russ would be surprised if he didn't get votes from Dave/John/Shambo, S20 spoilers, how Russell feels about Natalie, how Foa Foa spoilers were very detailed such as why Ashley/Ben were voted out, whereas Galu spoilers were very vague, how Russell didn't remember the fight he and Liz had on the beach), it is clear that the source, either directly or indirectly, was Russell.

But as CR pointed out to you, just about ALL of the info was Russell related. Even to how he felt about other Survivors and things that happened in the game. Missyae just posted what Russell told him/her and in so doing made it clear to everyone that the info was coming from Russell, rather than present the info in a way that would not identify the leak. Explain why the person who posted the bootlist (which was first survivor united btw) knew the dynamics of a tribe that russel wasnt on. .........................................................,..THe more I think about it people giving away who they voted for could easily be explained, since shambo and erik both revealed their votes at ftc.

But this spoiler doesn't simply involve partial information. It is a fundamental misrepresentation of a key moment in the game, the kind of misrepresentation someone would make who saw footage of that TC without understanding what led up to the idol play. I find it as plausible that Russell would have described his idol move that way as you apparently find the possibility that missyae's source is not Russell. But as CR pointed out to you, just about ALL of the info was Russell related. Sure, it's not lost on me that missyae's spoilers were heavily centered around Russell, but that comes with the territory in the season of Survivor: Russell. Moreover, the gaps and inconsistencies I've spotted make me think the source isn't Russell himself. Given the amount of Russell footage the editors showed us this season, I don't find it hard to believe that post-production folks got exposed to a lot of Russell. Just for argument's sake, I can imagine some low-level peon assigned to transcribe footage blabbing about the things they saw, without the full understanding of someone who was actually there or someone who's editing the footage together.

Exactly, it proves the source is from Foa Foa. First of all, missy said "Foa Foa to this day does not understand...", well obviously they must be connected to someone from Foa Foa. This disproves your low level production person, unless they keep tabs on the contestants and asks them what they think of the show. And because they didn't know why Galu voted out Erik (Something the Galu members would know), it can't be someone from Galu. So if I am to believe that missyae's source once assumed Erik was voted out because of the idol, how can I believe that source was in fact Russell? Explained above. It has to be someone from Foa Foa. It cannot be Natalie, since missy wouldn't give up his source (and threw Natalie under the bus) and the spoilers trash Natalie. It can't be Mick by your logic because Mick hung out with Erik quite a bit and would theoretically know about the idol. And do you really think a lawyer would breach contract so heavily or was it someone who's perspective is told through the story, and who can't keep his mouth shut to save his life? And how would you know that Russell would have simply described the mechanics of his actions and statements without conveying their meaning? And how do you know he wouldn't? That's a minor detail that could be explained by Russell's ego repeating the statement he made and letting people interpret it. Furthermore, Missy STATED they did not know what the statement meant, but that they assumed it meant ____. Most of the spoilers were from Russell's perspective. How would someone know that Russell and Shambo were offered a spot on the Amazing Race? How would someone from Samoa know Russell was offered another spot on a future season? How would someone from Samoa know how Russell felt about Natalie, or the votes he felt he had? Or how would someone from Samoa know S20 spoilers almost immediately after filming? How come missy didn't show up with info until just after the S20 cast returned to the states? RUSSELL! Sure, it's not lost on me that missyae's spoilers were heavily centered around Russell, but that comes with the territory in the season of Survivor: Russell. From his perspective at least. It was Russell. And he can't keep his mouth shut because he gets off on people praising him for his game, which really in all honesty, wasn't that great. It was good, but no where near survivor's greats.

I'm just trying to be careful here in what I say because this went from a kind of random thread to me stumbling onto a real issue. Put it this way, Anti posted in this thread, in the Sucks forum, which illustrated that this was valid subject matter. So the issue for me was that I thought Russell and his wife had posted these spoilers. They didn't, wasn't them. Next question became did Russell tell somebody who then posted this info? This looks like a distinct possibility at the moment, especially the way you present all that info together, CR. So then, why is Russell allowed to behave however he wants and spoil seasons of Survivor, if that's indeed what happened?
