This is a character who appeared on the very first episode, and who was played by the same actor for 40 years. I want him sent out in style, but I fear that the people in charge don't have as much concern for the show's history as the fans do. So here are five things I want to see, but we probably won't see. Alice Horton. I know Frances Reid is not well. But if she's doing so poorly that she can't put in an appearance for this, then it's time for her character to be given the send-off she deserves. Wouldn't it be nice if, for once, an actor could be alive and see the kind of love and support that are often only shown after they've died? They owe her that. More than 5 minutes of flashbacks with John Clarke. Mickey had so many great storylines back in the day - having amnesia and being Marty Hanson, learning Michael's paternity, shooting Bill, being held captive by Stefano, being a father to Melissa and Sarah, dancing with Maggie after she was able to walk again - and they should be at least referenced in his memorial. A confrontation between Maggie and Stefano. Everybody focuses on John and Marlena, but Mickey was also thought dead and held captive by Stefano in South America. She never had the chance to get revenge. Now would be a great time to bring that up and have it play out. Laura and Mike Horton. Ideally Susan Flannery and Wesley Eure (or Michael T. Weiss). But I'd settle for the most recent incarnations. Bring back Marie Cheetham as Marie, while you're at it. She was also on the first episode. Don Craig and Neil Curtis. Both men were friends of Mickey and involved with Maggie, and both are presumably still in Salem. They're legacy characters that long-time fans would love to see, and this is the perfect opportunity to bring them back. What would you like to see? Also, both Ed Mallory and Christopher Stone died in real life; did they ever address Bill Horton's death on screen?

As far as I remember Bill Horton is still alive and in Afrida (?) I agree with the people you want to see back and I don't think I can add anyone to that list, except Sara and too bad Grandpa Shawn is dead. It is too bad that FR is too ill to appear Spoiler [+] I have read that FR has a life time contract and that is why her name still appears in the credits and will remain alive on the show as long as the actress is still alive I would really like to see tons of flashbacks and them dedicating at least 1 entire episode to just Mickey and Maggie. Unfortunately, this storyline is supposed to bring Bo and Hope closer together........ugh.......

That was one of the first nails in the coffin; I watched Days all through the '70s and '80s (even when I was too young to know what was going on), but I stopped watching when it became the Kristen & Sami show. Still pop in from time to time, but I'm sure I'll be disappointed. On a related note - I recently watched two movies, and both had scenes from "Days of Our Lives" on the TV in the background. "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" had Doug and Julie, circa 1975, and "Awakenings" had Bill Horton and an unidentified brunette from 1969. Just a few seconds, but I recognized the actors immediately.

I started watching in the mid-80's in college when my roommates beat me to the tv and I ended up watching Days instead of All My Children. I've been and on-again/off-again watcher since then. I'd like to see FR at least come to the funeral. Just dont' give her more than a couple of lines to say.

Posts: 4441 (01/03/10 07:28 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	TJ - FR is in a home and I believe she has dementia - or some such illness that will not allow her to appear on the show. for christ sakes shes' 95 yo and the last few times she appeared on screen she read from cue cards and only in a seated position - i don't remember the last time we actually saw her but it's been a couple/three years, so she was doing well to be alive and able to appear at that age. Christ - I know I'll be dead and burned to ashes before i hit 80.

Then I stopped and didn't start watching until about the Chloe being filmed naked storyline which I watched up until the Salem stalker storyline was finished. I just started up again before the summer. Passions always was my shit and now that it's gone Days is my stable show <3.

I stopped when they sent John and Marlena off. I had to watch a couple of shows with my mom in Dec as I was sitting with her after a surgery. I see I haven't missed anything. I think it was around the same time marlena was locked in the cage in paris cause i think that was also one of the first storylines i watched?!?! I also remember sami druggin austin (which led to will) and when laruen koslow came back as kate and began the sami rivalry. That was around the time i got hooked. I watched here and there before that but dont remember much. I stopped watching religously after the salem stalker storyline and it looks like i havent missed much.
