Hopefully Judy Reyes will drop in before the season's done.

At first the new thing was very odd, but I find despite being so different it's still got the Scrubs-feel even with the whack of new cast members. All of
whom I'm warming too, except for Cole who started out sub-reptilian so he's got a long way to go. I do think the focus on the older cast has a more
comfy feel but Lucy, Drew and Denise all fit well. Love that Turk's work buddy is somehow both Denise and Cox.
Hopefully Judy Reyes will drop in before the season's done. |

It's already confirmed that Judy Reyes won't be making an appearance this season.
Which is a shame, because the way ratings are going - it doesn't look like there's going to be another season. We may as well enjoy Scrubs 2.0 while it lasts. |

Snore-fest. You think this show is comedy? It's done and gone.

It's not officially dead, but the network hasn't called for the time of death yet:

What the hell is he expecting putting it up against American Idol now? Yeah, I'm sure the ratings are going to INCREASE now for the last episodes.
While I'm grateful they saved it from NBC, I'm not sure ABC did a whole lot better by them. Sigh... |

I respect and appreciate McPherson for bringing the show on last year, giving 1.0 a proper Finale, and feeling that there was enough there for it continue in a
new form - which even with my doubts, turns out the dude was absolutley right! The show has been consistently good to great the past 4 episodes.
But to say that this doesn't work on the Wednesday block because it doesn't "fit" is nonsensical. Why not exactly? Just say you are giving up on your pet project because numbers have been below average, just say it. Thing is though, critics are starting to come around and it is still a recognizable show with 2 familiar TV names. The writing, acting, and direction have all improved - it is pretty clear to me there is something brewing with this group. Scrubs is pretty cheap to produce, if you really "believed" in it, you would give it one more legit shot next year or hell, just throw it on Friday's to give it (another) proper send off. And yes, I fully admit to being disillusioned and unreasonable with most of this argument. Numbers suck and I am really starting to dig the show... sad. |

Creator Bill Lawrence sees a glimmer of hope for renewal, too, and thinks it has a chance of airing at least once on Wednesdays.
http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/2010/01/scrubs-some-thoughts-from-bill-lawrence.html The hotel's bandwidth is just good enough that I was able to Slingbox tonight's "Scrubs," which I thought continued the show's recent creative upswing - and was the first episode to do so while featuring Zach Braff. (It was also the last Braff episode of the season.) Rather than do a review, though, after the jump I'm going to run some quotes from an interview I did with "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence this afternoon at press tour. |

Well, the last two episodes of the season are airing on Wednesday 27th and Wednesday Feb 3rd. If they don't rate, I guess that's it.

Did anyone watch this tonight? It was great - easily the best episode of the season and right up there with a lot of my V1 favorites.
Oh, and according to my channel guide, as of right now it won't be on this Wednesday, a MF re-run is sloted. |

This season would be so much better if they just made it a spin-off and didn't act like it was the same show, because it's clearly not.

"I don't speak Caribbeanish" and "Which book... they all have chapters??" were just too good.
Lucy is still my least favorite out of the new big three, but Kerry Bishe has found a solid rhythm and gets better every week. It also helps that even though she gets top billing, she really isn't the main focus the way JD was. Turk and Cox were used perfectly tonight, as was Kelso, who had a great line at the end but it just isn't coming to me at the moment. Denise/Turk is probably my favorite dynamic on TV right now and loved how the whole Denise and Drew angle was handeled and presented. Also love the hot Aussie chick - she alone is enough reason to bring this show back next year. |

Turk was awesome. His line about his trainer had me rolling

Okay, random 3 week break - the last two episodes are now set to air on the 17th and 24th. Are there any new episodes of shows ABC isn't trying to kill airing that night? Because that's pretty much the only hope for Scrubs 2.0 being renewed.

Did anyone watch tonight? I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't, as I only found out with minutes to spare that it would be on.
I reccomend Hulu'ing accordingly though if you missed it - 'twas great. |

I watched. I still love this show. I always will. I'm one of the few who likes it a LOT better without JD and Elliott.

OK, the season finale did not leave me feeling like the series was going to be cancelled. How cool would it be to have a season next year with Cole learning from Turk?

Again, LOVED the episode tonight. Honestly, the material we have gotten out of these last 5 or 6 episodes is as good as anything on.
I am doubtful at best considering a renewal, but will keep my fingers crossed, and at the very least, be very happy to add this to my DVD collection - something I wasn't sure I would be saying at the start of the season. "I was thinking about fate. You know, the stuff they talk about during the boring part's of Lost" |

Ugh, that being the last episode of Scrubs would be the worst thing ever. Great episode, but really not a way to end the show - or even to end Scrubs 2.0.
I thought the whole cancer thing was kind of rushed, though. But I guess they needed to get some closure in case the show wasn't renewed. |
