so the writers are fucking up Ejami too. I guess Rafe is the only man for Sami ::sigh::

I've watched Days since it was black and white. I do wish they would do a Mickey tribute to jog some of those old memories.
why do I even start liking EJ. he is an ass and always has been. I have to keep reminding myself that. good grief, he raped Sammi. that's the only reason little Johnny exists in the first place. his love for himself has no bounds. |

I agree about EJ. It just seems that they were trying to get Ejami passed the rape (like that is even possible) to have them together.
Now its Rafe or nothing... and I think Rafe brings ZERO anything to this show. I gave him a shot at first but now I just want him and his whole family to gtfo of Salem. |

you know, i'm sorry but i have to take the other side of the fence with the whole ejami rape thing. it was what it was and it was addressed and over with.
look at GH with Luke raping Laura. what could have been more graphic than that and they turned into one of the biggest power couples of daytime TV.

I'm completely done watching this show - I hate what they're doing to EJ - I'll continue to watch until Mickey's service is over then I'm
checking out and never returning.
I had a thought that maybe Joe M is thinking of retiring and maybe they're setting EJ up to be the next Stefano. IDK. |

Used to be a big Days watcher (and poster here) but when Days sent John and Marlena off without the respect the characters deserved, I quit. Did tune in today
to see Mickey's demise...thought I saw the "body" take a breath when Maggie held his hand. I can't believe Soap Opera Digest is making this a
cover story. Mickey has been around in name only for years, so while it will be nice to see some long forgotten faces returning, it's not a big story. Yes,
everyone loves Maggie and now viewers are going to have to endure her falling off the wagon....so good for the actress that portrays her (SR) for giving her
something to do other than run a home for wayward girls, but again, not a big interest story.

Suds, I've gotta object. Anything that brings the Hortons front and center is a big interest story. It's a crying shame they couldn't have gotten
John Clarke to reprise the role of Mickey for the holidays; don't know if it was his health or if the show never thought to ask him back for a couple of
days of shooting. Imagine the impact this story could have had if the original Mickey - who was on the first episode back in 1965 - had been shown interacting
with Maggie and the rest of the family. It would have been a great, albeit cruel, reminder of the strong character Mickey had been before James E. Reilly sent
him permanently to the back burner. Hearing about Maggie's love for Mickey wasn't nearly as effective as if we'd been able to see it for ourselves;
his death would have been much stronger if we'd been given a couple of scenes of them together prior to his untimely demise. And that interaction with
Lexie yesterday was just weird; it's as though they were quickly trying to establish a friendship that's going to be torn apart when Maggie has her
inevitable plunge back into the bottle.
How sad that most of the people here have no idea what a great character Mickey was in his prime:

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. I started watching Days, The Doctors and Another World way back in 1967 and I don't even recognize Salem any longer.
I only tune in from time to time, but I don't know who most of the people are and I don't care. I did love the Mickey, Bill, Laura story line and I
loved to hate Linda Patterson. I thought of that character not too long ago, wondering what had ever become of her.
I hadn't realized Mickey died, so I will be watching next week for more of the old clan to return. |

It's just that this is, well it's Days, and the show never seems to get it right. Mickey has been back burnered for soooooo long that his death, which should have been tearful, was kinda bland, at least for me, because I do remember how vital Mickey was to Days gone by. Truth is, Maggie turning to the bottle is a cop out, again from my point of view, because we have seen her for years as a very strong independent woman. I just don't see her turning to the bottle for comfort, but because Days writers have no imagination, it's an easy route to go. |

YouTube from 1983, with Mickey and many of the people who will be at his funeral this week. Quality isn't so hot, but it's some good stuff, including
Maggie's engagement to Don after Mickey returned from Stefano's island. The stalker in the bushes is Nathan's father, Pete.
For those into such trivia, Jed Allen played Don Craig. He replaced John Ingle as Edward Quartermaine on "General Hospital" when Ingle came to DOOL to play Mickey after John Clarke left. |

lol @ Abe's hair.
I miss the original Roman. He was my favorite. I forgot how much better Hope looked with a little meat on her. |

I was a kid during this time of Days....watched with my Grandma.....loved Wayne Northrop as Roman...I've hated Roman ever since he left the role. Guess
that's why I enjoyed Dr. Alex so much just b/c I like WN.
My husband's mom used to watch Days too and he said he had a big crush on Hope back then, now she looks like a scarecrow. I've often wondered if she has an eating disorder. |

Phuz1 wrote: They did sent John Clarke a script. Now would be a perfect time for the show to cast Sarah Horton. I'd also like to see them bring in Mike (Not Roark). Less Brady's & Hernandez's and more Horton's. |

I'd even like to see Jeremy back, but not that actor - and not have him be a bad guy. Mike, Sarah, Jeremy would all add some Horton flare to the show.
I'd actually love it if Melissa came back to stay or at least recur. Maybe Dr. Stinky can sleep with her next......LOL

I don't mind the actor who played Jeremy but he's on 90210 now. The writing for Jeremy was horrid.
Maybe Dr. Stinky can sleep with her next......LOLMelissa would have to be one of his patients though. |

Who's the daughter - I hear we're supposed to find out today (in Canada anyway)

my money is still on Melanie. I read the prevuze for tomorrow (today in Canada) and I dont think its said who the daughter is. Carly says "she hates me,
did you see the luck of disgust on her face?" to Bo.
But she talked to Mia and Melanie at Maggie's earlier so it could be either that she is talking about. Then she pulls out a baby photo and says you are too young to go though this alone (talking about Mickey's death). |

I think someone is supposed to say her name - it would have to be Bo or Carly, since they are the only two who know who it is.
Spoilers have been wrong before, so I'm not banking on Melanie. Could be Mia - we'll see really soon. Kudos to Bo for banging CArly. |
