The Road Charlize Theron is a bit out of place and if they were going to add in flashbacks I would have much rather seen the apocalypse and not her and Viggo in a crappy home. Nods, have you read The Lovely Bones? It doesn't really focus on the in-between because nothing can really happen there. What do they show of it in the film? (This may be a spoiler, I guess). Also, I like that they don't show the apocalypse in The Road (both the book and movie). It leaves the viewer guessing. Midnightproblay, what is the "Marcel" scene you're talking about?

Spoiler [+] When her lover dies, Marion Cotillard/Piaf (who had been hallucinating just moments before) starts crying and screaming "Marcel!" a couple of times in a desperate attempt to convince herself that he isn't really dead.

I read the Road, I don't mind that they didn't show the incident that caused the Apocalypse but I would have liked to see the world around them collapse. If they are going to do flashbacks (which weren't in the books) then I would have liked to see a little bit more decay. There were about 4 or 5 scenes in-between the stuff with Tucci's victims, her drowning on way to a gazeboo, strange houses stuff like that. It was okay then again I actually liked What Dreams May Come.

It's even in the list of possible longshots to snag a best picture nom (although it won't). I hope it beats "This is It" because that was put together very shitty. He sang off pitch the entire time and the only redeeming thing about it is he just died and it better not win for that reason there.

Do NOT waste your money. It had potential but they fucked it up. At least I got to pick the restaurant.

Remove this ad Mirrors (2008) Horror/Mystery/Thriller Starring: Kiefer Sutherland, Paula Patton and Amy Smart My Thoughts? This movie was really good! I never heard about this movie before so I didn't know what to expect going into it. I was satisfied when all was said and done. The character that Amy Smart plays dies in one of the most creative deaths ever! So fucking gross, if you like gore and blood? You'll love it. This movie was so creepy that I can't look at mirrors the same anymore. Kiefer Sutherland did a great job in this flick, he loves his family in this movie and I really wanted a family reunion but the end really made me sad. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice twist Spoiler [+] of having him end up TRAPPED IN THE MIRROR! I Did not see that one coming but it was sad. Paula Patton is love<3 my new hollywood crush. My Thoughts? I loved this movie! I have always wanted to watch it since its release back in 2007 but I never got the chance to see it, well I did tonight and I find myself wondering what took me so damn long. This was well acted, very rare in Horror Movies. Marcia Gay Harden was the best thing about this movie, I found myself rooting for her for the first half of the movie until she went batshit crazy This movie had nasty death scenes, weird looking creatures and Sam Witwer<3 My new crush! He is fucking hot! He played Private Jessup! Spoiler [+] His death scene was so sad! He didn't deserve to go out like that. That's when I started hating Marcia Gay Harden's character since it was her fault he died. The guy that pissed his pants in American Pie was in this to lol! Spoiler [+] The ending was insane! Basically the mist was all over town and five people tried to drive out of town. The car ran out of gas and they were stranded. Being human beings, they decided it was no use living (they felt they were going to die anyways) So one of them pulls out a gun and unfortunately for them they only had four bullets left and five people in the car. Thomas Jane's character is the lead in the movie BTW! He is the one with the gun and he decides to shoot the others INCLUDING HIS SON! (whom was like seven years old) I guess shooting them was better then them suffering at the hands of the creatures. Anyways he ends up the only one alive and here is the kicker. After he shoots his friends and son THE MIST GOES AWAY! So he killed them for nothing! Had they waited just a bit longer they would have all survived. It was sad because he shot his poor son for no reason and he to noticed that. This is one of those horror movies where there is no happy ending and I love that. It really is hard to explain, I highly recommend this movie! Special kudos go to Nathan Gamble who played Billy, for a kid his age he did a pretty fucking awesome job in this movie. I saw "Food Inc" and it was decent but it grew stale after they stopped focusing on the animals. "The Cove" was practically the same doc, but done wayyyy better.

The two biggest documentaries of the year (This Is It and Capitalism: A Love Story) are not even eligible. The Cove should have no difficulty winning win the Best Doc category.

Spoiler [+] Well, to me it looked like the army found a way to clear through the mist with blow-torches, and were rescuing people. It was so tragic that just moments before he had killed everyone his party--such a fuck-up! And remember the woman that was in the store that left to save her kids and no one wanted to help her. She was in the army guys truck with her kids. She survived! It was such a horrible ending, but I loved that it wasn't all wrapped up in a bow, for sure. So I'm still not sure if the mist has gone away but to me they were able to find a way to escape it...for the time being. Yikes.

The dude was relying on the same shit he was criticizing: that people like dolphins. What exactly about the dolphin trade is different from any other? You round up a whole bunch of them and kill them for money. Also, I don't buy the whole "Flipper committed suicide in my arms" bullshit. It's pretty hard to not breathe, and even though dolphins aren't involuntary breathers, drowning is not a pleasant experience and I don't think anything could "voluntarily" do it by themselves without some sort of aid

I liked the Mist too, and was glad the ending surprised me a little because Spoiler [+] mys sister told me the ending "sucked" so I figured they all died, so I was pleasantly surprised by the evilness of the ending. I haven't seen Mirrors yet, but it's on my Netflix.
