What happens in the event of a 3-3-3 tie at final tribal council? In the event of a 4-4-1 tie, I'd assume they just have the 1 vote... but in a 3-3-3 tie?

I'd love to see the unedited version of Christy Smith (S6) vote for a winner. I firmly believe she misunderstood Jeff Probst's instructions and thought
she was voting against Jenna. Would have made her even stupider then Shii Ann.

The three people who got votes and immunity holder would be the only ones safe. A 4-4-1 would almost certainly be solved by just doing a revote, with only the two that received four votes eligible. It would be similar to the 2-2-1 tie in Palau. |

The person who posted the question meant what would happen if there was a 3-3-3 tie in the jury phase of Cook Islands, Fiji, or Samoa. Like, if 3 people voted
Russell to win, 3 votes Natalie, and 3 voted Mick. How would they decide who won?

I forget where I read it but........
Apparently, because they have to put certain things in writing, there have been two or three scenarios I have heard. First off, obviously, production knows immediately that there has been a tie based on the camera's back there. I hear that they REALLY do sequester the votes immediately, which is the law. I hear that HAD there ever been a tie, that they have to have tie breakers immediately ready. I have heard stories ranging from and including......... 1) a revote at the reunion, where the jurors are told one by one, in private, to revote 'just to humor production' how if they were voting tonight instead of back when the show aired, whom they would vote for. 2) that the pre-juror survivor's are involved somehow. 3) That they invite as many former Survivor Winners as they can, and as soon as the vote is done, they vote and whomever the overall Survivor Winners that came to the live reunion at their own expense would decide. I forget where I read that, but it is what I heard. |

I've always assumed if there was a tie, they'd know immediately. Jeff would read the votes on location and announce there's a tie. Whoever got
third place would either vote OR they would have everyone revote between the top 2 vote-getters.
Regardless, a possible tie is one of the many reasons a f3 sucks. And I still hate that there just happened to be a random 8person jury in Micronesia. Doesn't make sense at all. |

At least it give Eliza the jury slot and made things interesting.
Why didn't pagong alumnis show up? Why the hell do we still love Colleen? |

well, if we are to take Probst at his word, they claim the votes are always immediately sequestered and that they don't know the results until the night of
the finale.
I don't believe that for a second- I think they know as the votes are coming up. I think that Probst then arranges the votes in order to make for a more interesting vote. It would be boring in a close 4/3 vote to just pull out the first 4 for that person.....the definitely arrange the votes in order to make sure it is as interesting as possible. |

LSiani wrote: I'm pretty sure it was like the challenge they had in Australia, where Mike and Colby had the big bamboo poales on their backs and the tribes hung buckets of water on them. Or did you mean what the actual reward was? IIRC, it was a closer water source. They probably didn't show it because they just didn't have enough time/had a bunch of other stuff they wanted to put in the episode. I hear that they REALLY do sequester the votes immediately, which is the law. I kind of doubt that. As has been stated, it's obvious they arrange the votes so they're revealed in the most dramatic order, plus they'll probably need to know ahead of time if they have a tie. |

Nick wasn't holding the water because Mike was a fucking beast who held more water than the pole could take. That was like...insane.
