Jay Leno can go screw himself. I hope that actors that go on his show never work again.

Well...Conan did lose a huge chunk of the ratings. But why would NBC be surprised? It's a completely different type of humor than what people expected from
Leno. NBC should have either realized Conan has loyal followers and a chance of picking up viewers or they never should have hired him as the replacement. The
article said they wanted him to adjust his show..well shouldn't that have been discussed before all this?

Synopsis of the article on the previous page: Dick Ebersol said "Hey Conan, plz dumb down your show." And Conan was like "no thx. DIAF."
I raged through the entire fucking thing. |

Conan makes me nervous, always herky-jerking around like a spaz.
With Jay, you can kick back and chill. |

Wowowowowowowowowwoow. The Kimmel on Leno thing is so uncomfortable and so amazingly hilarious... I am squirming on my couch.

that begs the question--why in the world was Jimmy even booked?
its great pr for Jimmy but why would Leno's people OK it? Unless even they hate him |

With all the NBC bashing he's doing there is no way Conan makes it to next Friday. They'll yank him and start airing re-runs immediately I bet. Re-runs
with Leno as host!

IMHO, Jay sees himself as the "nice guy" despite all the shit he's stirred up. Kimmel did the impression of him and Jay extended the invite to do
the show, likely as a 'hey buddy' gesture. I doubt Jay or his peeps knew that Kimmel was going to rip him a new one. Jay is used to being top dog of
late night and having everyone kiss his ass all the time, so he likely thought that Kimmel would fall in line, do the rehearsed bits and Jay would continue to
look like the nice guy for having him on during Primetime. Jay extended the olive branch and Kimmel bitchslapped him with it. Kimmie's got nothing to lose
at this point on ABC, so why not? No one else is serving it up to Jay's face and he deserves it. Conan will likely be signed to a strict confidentially
agreement with NBC and will never have the chance....

Could this all be a huge scam on all of us? Is NBC staging this mess for publicity since it was obvious they made a huge mistake putting Leno on at 10? It just
seems too much.
And another thing I noticed was when Leno first came on stage for his first 10 PM gig I noticed he was going for another look with his hair. He started parting it on the left side which made him look "rakish" & younger. Not as buttoned down & polished. I hated it. To me he looks too messy. His black patch has disappeared & now he has an uncombed look that isn't stylish for his age. I immediately thought they were doing this to make him look different & younger. FAIL. I hope Stern gets the balls to hop on that airplane & go do Conan's show next week, then shit on the desk like he alluded he'd do. He's still all kinds of pissed off about how Leno handled the John Melendez situation. Then one day he wasn't there anymore. And only so that ignorant hack of a guitar player could sit there & glorify his stupidity. The only one I'd miss if Leno bit it would be Ross Matthews. |

Well, I guess this provides a little insight on Zucker's feelings towards Conan: http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/no-joke-jeff-zucker-had-conan-arrested/ NO JOKE: Jeff Zucker Had Conan Arrested By NIKKI FINKE | Category: Uncategorized | Thursday January 14, 2010 @ 11:10pm COMMENTS (14)EMAIL THIS | PRINT THIS | It's just been brought to my attention that, while they were Harvard undergraduates, Jeff Zucker '86 called the cops on Conan O'Brien '85. (I never saw previous reports about this.) According to articles in both the Harvard Crimson and Yale Daily News, Zucker, then president of the university's Harvard Crimson daily newspaper, dispatched the police to the Harvard Lampoon office after O'Brien, who was president of the campus humor magazine, organized a prank on his college rival -- stealing an entire print run of the Crimson before it could be distributed. "He only forgave me when I gave him The Tonight Show," Zucker told a Yale gathering back in 2005. The Harvard Crimson described the incident this way in a 2004 article about Conan landing The Tonight Show courtesy of Zucker: "O'Brien cut his teeth in comedy as president of The Harvard Lampoon, a semi-secret Sorrento Square social organization that used to occasionally publish a so-called humor magazine. In fact, O'Brien first met Zucker, his current boss, one day when O'Brien and the Lampoon editors stole all the copies of that morning's Crimson. Zucker, then Crimson President, called the police and met O'Brien face to face while he was being arrested." In 2001, Conan told The New Yorker this about the incident: "College pranks are supposed to be clever, but our rivalry with the Crimson had degenerated into us stealing something, Jeff calling the police, and the police making us haul it back," said O'Brien. (Other Lampoon pranks on Zucker included "a fake phone-sex ad with Zucker's dorm-room phone number. Zucker did not find any of this particularly hilarious.") So what's to glean from this Harvard history lesson? Yes, Jeff Zucker was a thin-skinned prick who didn't understand comedy or know how to handle creatives even back then. |

Nothing would ever make me tune into any show of Leno's, but I'm so glad there was a clip of Kimmel's appearance on his show last night. Kimmel
was freaking AMAZING. I have a newfound respect for Kimmel for not "playing along" with Leno and just letting loose.

When Jimmy Kimmel and Jay Leno were on each other's shows during the writers strike those 2 shows were some of the best episodes for either guy imo. Most
celeb interviews are boring but those 2 just shot the shit and it was like 2 rivals just coming together and not giving a fuck. Jimmy Kimmel is clearly doing
what he can to get his own ratings for ABC and I can not blame him for that but my god was that brutual.

I think it would be hard to demonstrate such venom to another like Kimmel to Leno if there wasn't any true feelings to back it up. The potential increase
in ratings for Kimmel is just a bonus.
Maybe this is the start of that new "marketing campaign" that ABC announced earlier this week. |
