At the same time, would they be having a big casting contest on their website if they weren't planning for 21 and 22? I really doubt they'd do that if they weren't planning to do at least two more seasons.

You're taking those two quotes out of context. They have nothing to do with each other. If you bother to learn to read, you'll see that the facts I'm referring to are the same comments you declared to be "smack" -- my statement that I've been around for a long time...which is indeed a fact. My comment about Survivor's longevity is a completely separate issue. (Although I still stand by my belief that S21/S22 will happen.)

The only one who's going to cancel the show is Jeff Probst. You can guarantee, though, that he and Mark Burnett are gonna wait out a year or two to see how successful Jeff's new show is, and if it is (which to me just statistically isn't likely), they'll rush into production another massive All-Stars possibly set in America for Season 24 or 25 and that'll be it... Mark Burnett will be behind Jeff's decision. If it's not a hit, then Survivor has at least another 5 years in it, 10 years at the max. At that stage, CBS will probably be quite happy to set a record for the longest running reality show (and most number of individual seasons)... being on for a total of roughly 20 years and 40 seasons is basically guaranteed to never be passed, and it will cement Survivor as one of the most successful television shows period. Yeah, until Survivor goes down below 8 million a week, CBS ain't going to touch it.

I think there's a clause in the application about whether any of your immediate family members were on or worked in production on the show.

I think Burnett wanted to phase Survivor out with The Apprentice, and once that flopped he was back on the Survivor train. Survivor has dominated the 8pm Thursday time slot for years, if American Idol were to shift to Wednesday/Thursdays Survivor would tank and be canceled. Until a network can attack the 2-headed beast of Survivor/CSI Thursdays, the show is an easy lock for the following year.
