Posts: 1959 (12/30/09 05:15 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I didn't SAY gas had anything to do with it......I SAID that it dawned on me that he had DRIVEN to the gas station, therefore he had warmed up the car, hence gotten the electric juices rolling for the day. That makes a big difference in my diagnosis. If it started easier once it was running for the day, it probably is related to the battery and cables. And...the "sweet spot" might be lucky jolt of electricity that fires up the solenoid...or gets the started motor to get past a dead tooth on it's gear. I still say it may be the starter switch because of the mention of a "sweet spot" from the key cylinder enagaging in a certain spot. Either way....start with the easy stuff....battery and cables that can be checked for free. Anything else....he clearly needs to go to a mechanic for. Next time just write "Bonestripper's right and I have a small pecker" it will take less time

Same thing was happening to me - they told me it was the solenoid, and when they took it apart to change it, discovered it was just a loose connection. Total cost, under $20.

It wanted to start but it was like it wasn't getting gas. So, we went through and changed everything and gave it a thorough tune up, new spark plugs, cap/ roter, wires, fuel filters, battery, everything. well, now its doing it again. Again mostly when its wet out but sometimes even if its dry it still takes a couple of turnovers to get going. And its mostly in the morning after not having run for a while. in looking online it seems it could be my fuel injectors are going. what do you think?
