In January, word broke that the DC Comics/Vertigo title "Human Target" was being developed as a new television series for Fox. Other than "Watchmen" actor Jackie Earle Haley's attachment to the project, things have remained relatively quiet on "Target" - until today, that is.
"Human Target" is officially making the leap from pilot to full-fledged series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Mark Valley-starring show was the best-received pilot during the network's screenings last week, leading to today's announcement.
Valley, who has a recurring role on Fox's "Fringe" as deceased FBI agent John Scott, plays the leading role of Christopher Chance in "Human Target." In the series, Chance is a for-hire security contractor that provides his clients with a unique form of protection - he assumes the identity of the endangered person as a "human target," drawing out the bad guys and getting paid all the while.
In addition to Valley, the aforementioned Jackie Earle Haley will play Chance's information gatherer, a crafty individual who always has his ear on the streets. Chi McBride, who had a starring role on defunct television series-turned-comic book "Pushing Daisies," will also star in "Target."
