That doesn't mean clip shows don't suck.

To be an optimist, it could be considered a badge of honor. Of all my favorite comedies, I think Frasier is the only one that didn't have at least one clip show.
That doesn't mean clip shows don't suck. |

Clip shows can be good if you know how to make them good. See South Park and the short-lived Clerks show.
Of course, those weren't so much clip shows as they were parodies of clip shows, but still. |

Lame and despite the premise for the clips, it didn't really advance the what's going to happen storyline at all as far as I was concerned. It's like they've painted themselves into a corner and don't know/care what to do next.

Direct quote from my buddy last night:
"You know what, I liked the new episode of the Office! I'm new to this show and it kinda caught me up to what you all were talking about. Plus I'm way too cheap to pay for the DVDs." Just thought I'd throw that out there. Maybe the Office recruited some more new fans...? |

Considering I just spent the last week watching all the episodes of the Office, I think I'll skip the clip show episode.

Where was Jim in all of this by the way? Clearly he was on vacation or something because he never would have allowed this nonsense, but we could have used some dialogue explaining that. Pam's excuse for going along with it was pretty flimsy ("Michael's now the highest-ranking employee of DM"), and we also don't know where Oscar was or how they replaced Stanley.

Yeah, I did not get the point of that episode. And I was very disappointed that after the hiatus a clip show is all we got. How long before we get a new episode?
But I did laugh a lot, because the clips were all hilarious, natch. |

Do you guys think this is the last season? As much as the newer episodes have not been that great and all, the thought of the show ending makes me queasy.

This is the kind of show that would plan its last season and let us know in advance. It's certainly not going to be canceled, at least not as long as NBC is still a functioning network.
Look who's the CEO of Sabre:
