btw There's no way that Marquesas is worse than Thailand, Cook Islands and Fij. Those three season were DREADFULL. ACK! Besides, Thailand still stands as Indisputably the worst season for me. I like it's pre-merge, since it was packed with great characters like Robb, Jan, Clay, Shii Ann and Ghandia who all provided top-tier entertainment. However, by the time the merge had come, Shii Ann, Ghandia and Robb all were gone, Clay had turned into some sort of dirtbag (still entertaining though, but not as much fun) and Jan had gotten quite lame, leaving on nice but BOOOORING Jake and rootable but bitchy Helen to root for, in what is indisputably the worst F8 ever. I absolutely hated Ken, Penny, Ted, Clay and especially Brian at the time, and up till today Brian is one of the five Survivors I wish death and eternal suffering on. Thailand's post-merge was aggravating, antagonizing, predictably and absolutely painfull to watch, except for Penny's boot, which was kinda lulz. As soon as Ted was booted, I knew Brian's win was absolutely inevitable, and that made imo the Finale one of my least favourite episodes ever. (With Brian winning the game after backstabbing HelenGoddess.) Only redeeming thing I can think about is Helen owning Brian at FTC. Least Favourite season ever. Cook Islands, and even Fiji had, despite having poor casts/edits/gameplay, at least provided one or two persons to root for, and I can still live with a Yul andEarl win, despite the fact that both are BORING beyond belief. As for Outback, it's post-merge was boring for two reasons. 1) It took way too long to get to the Finale. 15 Episodes is just too much, and face it - there aren't many exciting things to be shown with only 3 castaways around. 2) The complete lack of opposition from Kucha. Rodger/Liz/Nick/Amber could've easily dominated the game, and mind you, the HAD the chance of doing so, and make Outback's post merge interesting... but failed. However, the outback F7 had something the F7 in Thailand absolutely lacked - likeability. All of the Outback F7 were, at least to some degee likeable. Thailands F7 had only Jake and to a lesser extent Helen, Jan and maybe Brian (if the creep has fans *shudder*). That's it. Post-Merge Clay was antagonizing, Ted and Penny were despicable, vile and atrocious. That's what makes Outback Post Merge >>>>> Thailand Post Merge imo. As for the pre-merge, I liked both of them. Australia's cast was more likeable overall, but Thailand had more entertaining castaways. The problem is with both Outback's and Thailand's pre-merge is that their best castaways all left too early (Debb, Mad Dog, Kimmi, Skupin, Jerri, Ghandia, Robb, Shii Ann), making a boring and predictable on both ends. Like I said, Outback's post-game >>>> Thailand's post game, and that's imo the deciding factor that makes Outback better than Thailand. |

What I really hate the most about Outback is how everyone is so obsessed with being perceived as good guys.
Colby, Tina, Elizabeth, Mitchell, Michael and especially Jerri were guilty of it. |

Thailand's cast was memorable. Of course, also largely unlikable and completely devoid of gameplay or unpredictability (the only person who could ever win over Brian on the entire F9 was Helen and even that is arguable). But memorable. We've had Ghandia, that alone made for the single most awkward and uncomfortable moment of Survivor, we've had Robb and Shii Ann (both the sole reasons why Sook Jai > Chuay Gahn), and we've had batshit insane old lady Jan. None of them were particularly rootable, but you remember them. Everyone else is either hateful or a borewhore. Or both, in Brian's case!
Cook Islands's cast is just bland. Parvati and Adam alone saved that dreadful post-merge with her flirting and his snarky and completely correct remarks about how fucking boring Aitu4 is. They were the life and soul on those tribal councils towards the end, specially FTC. Jonathan is also very memorable and top tier as a character, but he is the reason why Aitu4 dominated that crap, so he loses points. Everyone else is a borewhore, including Ozzy and Candice. Well, Candice is likable, at least. Also, like Thailand, Cook Islands had little gameplay to speak of (Ozzy throws challenge, girls boot JP, Yul flips Cao Boi and Flicka, mutiny, Yul flips Jonathan, and that's about it). It's downright agonizing no watch Cook Islands. It never fucking ends. Fiji's cast suffers a bit from both Thailand's and CI's problem, as we had an unbelieveable amount of borewhores (Earl, Cassandra, Stacy, Edgardo, Michelle, most pre-jury boots) and also an unbelieveable amount of extremely unlikable, unrootable people that made some parts of Fiji way too awkward (Alex, Mookie, Lisi, Rocky, Anthony). Fiji's FTC is marred with insanity and hostility, it's both boring and uncomfortable to watch. It is in many ways the worst cast ever (with Yau Man, Sylvia and maybe Boo saving it from completely ignominy), but at least it was a bad cast that strategized, and that cannot be said about Thailand and Cook Islands. With those said, Australian Outback is amazing, especially if you watch it expecting the same things you saw in Borneo - if you expect sophisticated gameplay, then you'll be bored - and that goes for any of the first five seasons. AO had character development, and it was beautiful to watch, and it just makes you sad that they don't care as much about it anymore. Between their extreme conditions and their characters (every single person on AO's cast but Mitchell is likable - even Debb and Keith), IMO the season never gets boring... finale aside, of course. I can't believe we've had a 2-hour finale with only three characters. That was a major slip. Still, AO didn't need great gameplay to be entertaining, even post-merge - even though it still was more entertaining gameplay-wise than both Thailand and CI. Or did you really expect Jerri and Amber to be booted before Kucha people? Also, that F10 episode was amazing and Jeff's boot is talked about to this day. Bottom line is, AO >>>>>>>>>>>>> Thailand. And Fiji. And particularly Cook Islands. |

Bottom line is, AO and CI are two of the most popular seasons (AO may just be THE most popular) while Thailand and Fiji are the two least popular. (Sucks.Does.Not.Count.)
But I don't care about popularity, i'll always like Marquesas the least. |

Cook Islands is not popular outside of Sucks. In fact, Cook Islands followed by Fiji = Survivor ratings dropped by more than 5 million viewers on average.

I felt like compared to Fiji, at least there were more interesting and engaging cast members like Jonathan, Ozzy, etc. The other thing that, for me, pushes Cook Islands as being at least a bit better than Fiji is that it is at least redeemed with the Yul vs. Ozzy matchup, which was much more exciting than the inevitable Ozzy takes Sundra or Becky and wins in a landslide finale we had been conditioned to see. I must agree, though, that if you didn't start watching from the beginning, the low level of gameplay exhibited in the early seasons is stunning. To me, though, I did feel as though the early seasons (Borneo through Marquesas) did a better job of developing characters that you felt invested in.... even if you didn't like them, there were far fewer anonymous players making it well into the game. This is why I have really enjoyed the rare 16-player seasons that we have had in the past few years (Tocantins and China). Thailand I also think suffers because, of the early seasons, it stands out as being dull and lifeless, with an unlikeable cast. Compare it to Fiji or Cook Islands, yeah, looks a little better, but still doesn't change that the cast doesn't have that likable star quality, especially compared to Marquesas (it was exciting watching the first ever cross-tribal alliance go down, and it did have some memorable players like Rob, Sean, and Kathy) and Amazon (in my opinion, the only thing keeping me from saying without a doubt it was the best season ever was the WTF ending we got.) Thailand was a duller, older, less interesting cast Pagonging each other. The seasons that to me deserve to be banished to the "worst season EVAR" category: All Stars and Samoa. All Stars was such a cool concept on paper, and then we get a final six with such players as Amber, ShiiAnn, and Jenna Lewis? To me, as seasons with returning players go, Micronesia blows it out of the water, and All Stars just... blows. Samoa was the Russell Show. It was about the tribe that Russell ran into the ground, and then the tribe of unappealing morons that got picked off by their own stupidity. The cast, to me, was about as unappealing as Fiji and Thailand's, and there were really only a few people playing the game, most of them not that well. Oh, and if you really want to flame me, the most OVERRATED season in my eyes = Pearl Islands. Hated the cast, especially because I find Rupert and Fairplay really tiresome. Good players got screwed by the fact that the Outcast twist was used, and Lillian was only voted back on because she was such a mopey downer that Nicole and Michelle were dreading spending the rest of sequester with her. Fortunately, the only cast member I even liked, Sandra, won.

Well, after Rob C. was booted, I thought for sure Jenna M. would win over Matt, so the ending of Amazon for me was completely normal and thus the season is my favorite ever.
 All Stars is one of the weaker seasons, but I believe it doesn't deserve all the crap it gets (it certainly deserves most of it though). The only two casting decisions I disliked were Amber and Jenna Lewis, and they were replacements. The fact that they finishes 1st and 3rd respectively is certainly one of the many reasons All Stars ends up as underwhelming. However, I like all other 16 castaways (even though ASS having Shii Ann = HvV having Candice. I'm stunned by the similarities). The 3 tribes concept is amazing and was used very well, and the pre-merge was very entertaining. What ruins this season is a) Jenna Lewis, with her stupid winner hunt and her overall unlikable personality; b) too many episodes, as it had 18 contestants and no double boots (and the 3 tribes format actually allows double boots pretty nicely); c) an extremely boring post-merge that would be almost the same thing even if Amber was booted at F10. Samoa, in my opinion, has similarities with both All Stars (a couple throwing the rest of their alliance under the bus and nobody doing anything to break them apart, going to FTC and the "strategic" member of the couple delivering a bad performance for a psychologically unstable jury, making the "undeserving" member of the couple win; also, desistances that taint the pre-merge and a cast that comes off as unlikable) and Cook Islands (there's two tribes, one with 8 people and one with 4 people, and the former is reverse-Pagonged by the latter out of sheer stupidity; the former, despite the stupidity, has likable members, and some INV borewhores; the latter is, winner aside, unlikable, unrootable, and so boring that makes the jury snore, and makes me want to punch their asses in the eye). So, not only it is overall one of the weaker seasons, it also gave me a strong feeling of deja-vu, and an unpleasant one at that. I seriously didn't want to see Romber v2.0 (except Natalie thankfully wasn't fucking Russhole), or Aitu4 v2.0 (expect thankfully Brett is more competent than Adam). Still, I believe that overall Samoa is better than the disgusting Thai/CI/Fiji trio. But it's also worse than any other season. And Pearl Islands is my second favorite season. Amazing pre-merge, even more amazing post-merge, my favorite winner, and I loved the Outcasts twist. I liked most of the cast (incudlign Fairplay), and the few people I disliked were booted pre-merge (thank you Outcasts for making sure Shawn and Osten were booted before jury!). I'm not a Rupert fan by any means, but most of the time I didn't mind him. |

I just watched Australian Outback for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I sure liked it a LOT more than Fiji, CI, or Samoa. I haven't watched Thailand though so I can't say which is better between those two yet.

I just watched Thailand for the first time and it deserves all the shit it gets. It was just full of bland/unlikeable people; the setting just seemed to scream misery; it was predictable; it just seemed so... BLAH.
Still, it was better than several post-ASS seasons 'cuz at least it was full of non-mactors who actually wanted to be there, and there was no game-ruining HII BS to suck the life out of everything. Good reunion, though. |

I think Samoa/Cook Islands/Fiji had some of the worst edits of the entire series. The fact the no one was likeable/or people were completely ignored is unacceptable.
Let's go back to the good ol' days when you actually gave a shit about some of the characters and everyone was interesting. For the reason alone, Australia/Thailand > Fiji/Cook Islands/Samoa. |

That being said, the premerge portion was completely unmemorable until the mutiny episode. What would people consider to be the least memorable season? For me, I have to say Guatemala. I know I watched it, probably every episode, and I can't say that I really disliked it, but I can barely remember a thing about it except Steph's transition from America's Sweetheart to Rafe and Danni's Goat, and some of Gary's shenanigans.

Awwwww, I absolutely adore Guatemala. I remember everything about it except Brooke's personality. I don't think I ever saw that girl talking. Aside of that, an amazing cast, with many likable players (and StepheME), and a great sense of gameplay (Rafe made some bad boots though). Danni basically won the game by being so nice rafe would throw his alliance under the bus to keep her around. Also, StepheME is amazing and Judd and Jamie are two of the best villains ever (absolutely robbed of both FvF and HvV, both of them). My third favorite season.
