I haven't seen the Blindside but I guess Sandra winning is indicative of the Julia Robert's syndrome (Erin Brockovich) where they give you the award, not cause you're fantastic in that particular role (the role gives Hollywood the excuse to give the award) but because they're letting you into the A-list cause you've been around the bend for so long or something like that? Her speech was good though. I guess we know Jesse's getting some later. |

Watching this right now. I am *crying* on the ground for Sandra. She is a HUGE fucking underdog and you bitches LAUGHED at me and Blueberry when we said Sandra could win and look now bitches: Critics Choice, Globe, and a SAG. HAHAHAHAHA! Well Sandra is well liked by her fellow actors so I'm not shocked she beat Meryl, especially after she won it last year. It is VERY close between her and Meryl for this Oscar. I have been waiting years for Sandra to get recognized for her work and after seeing my favos Julia Roberts and Reese Witherspoon get their big awards, I am now waiting for her to.

Much as I enjoyed her performance in Grey Gardens, Drew Barrymore's stumbling, bumbling acceptance speeches make me hope she never wins another award, ever.
Either that or if she does win she doesn't show up to accept it. |
