Had Jenn Vecchio not given him her extra dough - so while Jenny didn't finish the hors d'oerves challenge, Marque had essentially failed the previous challenge despite technically 'finishing'.  Then his crostini was a bit of a cop out as well since it was directly from jars, but Jenny's actually was her own creation.  Do you think if she had copied Jenn Vecchio's approach of serving each crostini as tasters approached her table she would've been considered finished?  I suspect that approach may have also made for crispier toast and, had she let the attendees serve themselves it may have also covered for not making enough - she could have then said the tasters took extra cause they liked it so much.  Wouldn't have been any less truthful than Eddie saying he had grated that other cheese...
