Amazing post. You managed to sell me Outback Jerri's strategy game. I kind of forgot she was willing to flip over to Kucha on the merge, her alliances, etc, she really thought ahead. But it's hard to remember all that when, well, "I want to drench Colby in chocolate syrup, and lick him clean while I have sex with him".

I definitely don't see Jerri as a good player, at all. I think she's smart, but I don't think her strategic game or her physical game come anywhere close to making up for her horrible social game (which I love <3)

Like I said, it's been said that Amber was targeted for being the weak link in episode 4 and 5. Even though she wasn't weak -- that is what's untrue. With the merge right after episode 6, Ogakor votes out the person they hate more. Jerri. 2. Varner is a revisionist history douche. He claims now, 8 years later, that he was going to use Ogakor to dismantle Kucha. Really? This is after he's turned sour on Elisabeth and co. In his own words, his own interviews in Australia, he wanted a Kucha to win no matter what, especially after Mike's exit. I don't trust a thing he says now because he's already lied on several occasions. Like he also lied about Kimmi spilling that he had a vote, which Mitchell stated otherwise. |

![]() 19. JAMES CLEMENT SURVIVOR CHINA 7th PLACE BEST MOVE: Fooling Zhan Hu into believing he would align with them. WORST MOVE: Not playing his HII. STRATEGIC GAME: B+ James really wasn't that bad at the game. I guess you all want him out so badly, but I hope to enlighten you as to why his game wasn't all that bad. First of all, James doesn't have the social card that most great players do, so he was already at a disadvantage. But he was strong, strong enough to guarantee a spot to the swap. He managed to finagle his way into a majority alliance pre-swap, even having a side alliance with two of the outsiders, Denise and Jean-Robert. James was in a great spot at Fei Long. Post-swap, James was screwed. Yes, he did ask to go home, which does hurt him some in this ranking, but after Aaron left, James pulled one of the hardest maneuvers in survivor history, IMO. Winning over the trust of the majority alliance. It was clear Jaime, Peih-Gee and Erik were tight, and willing to throw the challenges to protect Frosti and Sherea. It is also true that Sherea didn't give Peih-Gee the reassurance she was looking for at the challenge. However, I'm not going to use those to discredit James' ability to get out of a pickle there. Even though he was safe, and the idols, he was still able to get ZH to keep him safe. Peih-Gee and Jaime have both confirmed post-show that James worked them over hard, and sold them a great story. This allowed him to gain their trust, and they didn't throw the challenge (of course, this was all done before he was swapped over and actually wanted to throw the challenge). James had them convinced he was with them, and that he would pull in Denise, until they found out otherwise post-merge. Yes, the idols fell in his lap, but it's also a fair point to say that without the idols, his target may not have been so big in the first place. Post-merge James wasn't that great though. I mean, he played the tribal loyalty card so hard; but he failed to realize that not playing the idol was actually one of survivor's stupidest moves. Not because he had two, but because had he survived that tribal council, he was guaranteed final 4; and he should have realized that those around him would know that and try to blindside him. It's common sense, putting yourself in other players' shoes. That one mistake drops him several spots here, but had he made that one little change, James could have won the game. I mean, he had another idol, and he was strong. He could have easily won at least one challenge, and made it to the final 4, with one challenge away from winning the game. That deserves some credit and a spot as #19 in this countdown. SOCIAL GAME: B- James' social game was okay. He once again, was liked, but not enough that people were willing to stick their neck out for him to keep him safe. He could have easily won a jury vote, but nobody cared for him enough to save him within the game, which isn't a great social game, in my opinion. Not only that, but he, in an attempt to appear loyal to Fei Long, yelled at Erik which pissed off Erik enough to vote for James at the tribal council he left; had he kept a better relationship with Peih-Gee and Erik who were trying to tell him he was on the outs, he could have flipped the game and won. PHYSICAL GAME: A What's to say about James' physical game? He kicked everyone's ass at the tribal challenges and he kicked everyone's ass around camp. I dock him the + simply because once again, his skills didn't translate over into individual immunities, and with the way he was playing, he was going to need at least one immunity win, if not two. INNOVATION: Once again, just like Micronesia, James was playing elementary survivor. Old school, season 1/2 survivor, with tribal loyalty. However, he did do something that very few people have done, like I said, in winning over the majority alliance post-swap. Good on him for it. He started the trend of being blindsided with an idol, and his game was a cautionary tale for future idol holders. LUCK: James got a bit lucky with Sherea blowing off Peih-Gee, but I can't take away from the fact that he played ZH. Not only that, but the twist was pretty shitty and put him in a horrible spot to begin with. This remains to me, one of survivor's most unfair twist. It was designed to screw over the strong. IMPROVEMENTS FOR HvsV: James' game in China and Micronesia were pretty much the same, which is why I'm going to direct you to his original entry. He shouldn't be trusting the girls and he needs to think for himself, because he plays like one of survivor's biggest bitch boys. And thus concludes the 11 survivor games that I felt were semi-good, but overall average or poor.
