Plus there's no chance Survivor will be canceled. Survivor is one of the most rated shows of CBS (in terms of 18-49 demo) |

I'm going to second Tomer's predictions. We can only hope they pimp the hell out of the survivor premiere during the superbowl.

No fucking way, sorry.
First hour: 13.5 (VERY generous) Second hour: 11 (people will realize what a sham this theme is and also that they know nobody but Colby/Jerri/Poopert/Stephme). |

LOL @ Dictatorship's latest incarnation.
Still, he's less of a downer than CSC at least. |

So do we know yet if this 2-hour HvV premiere is going to be an actual 2-hour episode, or is it going to be a Gabon-style 2-in-1 episode?
I know there's a discussion about the 2-hour premiere over in the Survivor 21+ forum, but I went into that thread a few weeks ago and was promptly spoiled as to who the first 2 boots of Heroes Vs. Villains are, so I don't plan to look in there again. |

It's official. CBS has ordered 2 more seasons as well as one more season of Amazing Race. |

YAY!!!
I think the show could potentially run for 30 seasons. No joke. |

Armitage Shanks wrote: LOL at those who posted that the HvV premiere needed to get the post-Super Bowl slot because Survivor is in danger of being cancelled. First of all, we get the announcement that CBS has ordered 2 more seasons almost 2 weeks before the Super Bowl and secondly, for the first time ever, we are going to get a f**king bona-fide 2 hour premiere (which we could have gotten for ASS if it hadn't debuted after the Super Bowl)!! |

As long as Survivor keeps that loyal fanbase, which it seems to have secured now and continues to consistently win its timeslot, there is no way CBS will be getting rid of it any time soon. |

AOL has a story on the Survivor/Amazing Race renewal. I'm sure it's just speculation on their part, but here is a blurb from the article that mentions how well the show still performs and what would happen if Jeff leaves:
Probst has previously indicated some hesitation at returning to the series, which he has helmed since its inception in 2000. But while 'Survivor' no longer commands the same figures it did in its early seasons -- last fall's 'Survivor: Samoa' finale brought in 13.97 million viewers compared to the first year's 51.69 million -- the show still remains a perennial top 20 hit, meaning that whether or not Probst returns, the show is too valuable for the network to let go. |

For any other series it would be the 10th season and ratings spikes at this juncture have happened for the likes of Law & Order, Cheers etc. |

Fox’s Bones opened the evening on a winning note, with a healthy 12.29 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/10 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. Second was Surviving Survivor on CBS, a clips edition of the long-running reality/competition, at 8.29 million viewers and a 2.4/ 7 in the demo. Heroes vs. Villains, the themed upcoming season of Survivor, begins next week. Go Colby! http://pifeedback.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/63310451/m/810103372 |
