I've been having a tough go at it this week, my mom broke her wrist and she has demencia and my dad is really having a hard time coping with her illness. We my siblings are trying to help dad help her, but it's hard becasue he is afriad to put her in a home, but it may be the best thing for her, for both of them. Man it sucks getting old and it hurts to see your parents get older and suffer. They have suffered enough. Things will work out they always do. Thanks for listeining and lettng me share. A home may be the best option for her but it's still hard to even make that decision. My Mum is now 87 and still lives happily by herself (after raising 6 of us! And before that raising her 7 younger siblings) but I'm sure the time is coming when she will have to live with one of us. Hope you are doing well. :)

She had signs of demencia bout 10 years ago,b ut she hid it well, but then about 4-5 years ago it was evident she had it. She tried hard to hide it and cope with it. Dad really has ahard tim with it, but he can't seem to handle it as well as he wants. It takes quite a toll on him. All we can do is watch and wait to step in. Hard to do when you don't have all 9 siblings on board. We all want what is best for both our elderly parents, but hard for some of us to see what should be done without feeling scared or afraid for them. Aw things will work out eventually. I am hopeful always :)

One brother has them living with them and my other brother lives with them too. We are very close to them, but I think with having 3 other siblings who are not ready to see mom in a nursing home can't cope. As a result we have to wait for something to happen so that Dad will be forced to put her in a home where she can be better taken care of. It's very draining and taxing, but we just have to wait to see what happens and take it from there. We have to be more prepared for next time as hard as that sounds.
