I find it more admirable to give your own time and effort and sweat to help others than to take a few minutes to ask other people to give the money they've worked hard for to a good cause. One takes a lot of effort and heart and dedication - the other not so much.
I honestly can't see Adam ever taking himself away from all the self-promotion and partying to go to a place where there is no easy access to clean water or food or clean clothing and where buildings are now just piles of rubble and there is misery as far as the eye can see. He might break a nail. I wouldn't go myself since it is easier for me to give money. Kris is a special person.
Most celebrities give their own money (Adam has said he donated to the red cross) and they give their time using their celebrity to raise awareness so others are encouragd to give.
Sure it's awesome for someone to go and actually do hands on relief work.. but obviously that doesn't work for everyone and not every celebrity is equiped to be useful in that type of situation so they do what they can to help. Both are worthwhile and admirable...
Kris certainly had no problem self-promoting and partying tonight down in New Orleans.
