I definitely like the additions of Nady and Tracy to the Cubs. While not ground breaking, they defintiely add some nice pop to the bench, and Nady can fill in for Fukudome vs. the tough lefties.

Strasberg will be an anchor to the pitching staff, at least until the Yankees or Red Sox offer him an ungodly amount of money when he becomes a free agent. If they can add 1 more respectable starter, they could be in business. Its a tough division this year, but the Padres will easily take the title of NL punching bad that they held for so many years. |

How many teams does that make for Xavier Nady now? Six? Seven?

The Heartbreak Yid wrote:Funny - now you're higher on them than I am. The Nats aren't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Mike Rizzo just made up some excuses in a recent interview for the Nats' low payroll not going up this year. This team will never spend money on decent free agents. You know you're fucked when Jason Marquis is your banner signing of an offseason. Screw giving the Expos Hall representation - just give them their fucking team back. /bitter |

I think the real question here is: Could the 2010 Mets beat the 1962 Mets in a pickup game? Lets see some Strat-o-Matic egghead crunch those numbers.

LOL Johnny Damon rumoured to be signing with the Cubs. Source is shaky, so for now, a rumour.
If true, that's a headscratcher. |

What makes me laugh is that Boras was once insisting on 2 yrs/$26M for Damon. He may be in line for a 1 year/$5M offer at this point if he's lucky.
Fuck Boras and his overplayed hand. |

I hope he plays somewhere, the guy can still hit. Was wishing he's lower his price for the Yanks, but I mean they got Randy Winn now so....

Damon always has very shitty years the first year of a contract.
To me, I was thinking that this is more about making Boras look bad than not wanting Damon. |
