This thread has been less than exciting. A contestant as despicable as Leukemia Girl deserves a lot more punishment than sucksters have given her so far.
Let me reiterate what I said in the auditions thread: of all the contestants who've made it to Hollywood so far, she is my least favorite. Her sob story is annoying, her voice is far less impressive than the judges think, and above all else, she is very, very phony. IMHO her pleasant facade barely masks a truly cold and calculating person. All through her audition she was working very hard at COMING ACROSS AS nice. I saw right through it and I think so did most other sucksters. That doesn't mean the general public will catch on as quickly. When you add together her passable vocals, interracial background and probable extreme pimpage, it's all too easy to her imagine her getting far enough to make the tour and then some. Prediction: she will get to around the top 6, do something that reveals her true personality (shades of Kevin Covais sneering at the judges or Mandisa making a homophobic remark) and then get voted off immediately in a shocker elimination. She would disappear into utter oblivion afterwards, of course, but that would still mean 3 more months or so of seeing her every week. Yecch. No, I don't want to see her cancer come back. But I would really like to see her fail to make the semis. |

It's not her fault she sucks. Nobody is good this year. I have yet to be really blown away by anybody.
I think the producers are weeding the really good people to make sure their pet wins. |
