An "extended" version of the pilot (which I have read has fewer boobies, more scenes and enhanced special effects) is now available to watch on Hulu.

Fewer boobies? But doesn't that make it worse?

Bump for it starting tonight. How is SyFy planning on judging the ratings of the first episode? With it out on DVD and Hulu, how many people do they think
are going to want to watch it live?

I just watched the pilot again, and now that time has passed and it's of Battlestar's shadow, it is very, very good. I think it's going to be a pretty awesome show.

Was there any difference between the DVD pilot and the pilot aired tonight?
I dunno about Adama being righteous so much as being a Soprano in space. I loved the DVD pilot btw. |

I don't remember the Pyramid scene, and I think all of the effects-filled establishing shots were new. Also, fewer boobies. I didn't notice many other differences. I *think* one of the "black space" scenes were new, but it's been a while.

I loved the 30 seconds at the end of the show where it should sneaks of what is coming this season. It looks pretty epic.
I also didn't notice many new things either, but I did think that the Pyramid scene was new. The pilot really does hold up, it was just as fun watching the fake Zoe and her Dad interact for the first time, the train explosion, and all the other events. I am very excited for next week. Thanks for answering my questions about the ratings. I am relieved to know that the are not basing a lot on last nights viewership. I really have high hopes for the show. |

Now having watched the pilot as aired, yeah I think the pyramid shots of the stadium and the convo in the owner's box are new, but I remember Admiral Adama age 10 talking to the pyramid player in the locker room. I don't remember as much of Zoe as toaster No. 1 either, but that could be faulty memory, or maybe they upgraded the CGI. Regardless, that was terrific looking when "she" woke up a climbed off of the table.
So what planet was it that Zoe and the suicide bomber kid were going to run off to? I didn't recall that name. Maybe it the same one that the super-faithful colonists that fell in with the BSG prophet lady were from? It sounded like it might be a lone monotheistic planet. If not, why would they want to run to the super-faithful polytheistic planet? Confuzzled. Also, I don't remember being bothered by the headmistress' defense of the suicide bomber as fighting evil. Was that new, too? Either way, I hope they're just trying to push our buttons -- highly charged thinking these days, and indefensible. Digging the series, although it's getting dangerously close to simply ripping off Frankenstein. BTW there were boobies on the DVD version? Where -- in the virtual nightclub sequences? |

So a new one's on tonight? Will this be new material from the pilot that leaked months ago?

Did anyone watch the second episode yet? I have it but I've only watched the first 10 minutes. It's kind of off-putting for some reason seeing the girl do the robot scenes.

Yep, and I liked it. Agreeance with the off-putting issue -- I think it's because we'll never get a chance to see Zoe be Zoe again, just a computer program stuck inside a toaster. I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to the conceit.
This whole business of who's the terrorist troubles me more. I think they're trying to hard to reflect current times and it doesn't work. Serge: "they're ripping the seats out, it's bedlam" -- |

I enjoyed the 1st regular ep. Not crazy about the cult/terrorism angle but I think I'm not supposed to like them. I never was a fan of the religious sect in BSG either.

3rd ep. on now. Did anybody seeing the ratings for the second? I don't remember exactly what they were but they were bad. They lost viewers - I guess the gamble of letting Caprica out early did not pay off. I hope that it bounces back, because the show is good and has a lot of potential. I still think that the weakest links in the cast are all them men, especially Adama. He sucks the life and magic out of every single scene that he is in. I am also sick of that ugly fedora. |

Here ar the ratings: "Only about 1.4 million viewers watched it on Friday night, down from 1.6 million the first week"
I guess .2 million of a slide is not that bad, except they were expecting growth. Any idea how this compairs to other SyFy channel shows? I think I could literally watch a whole show that was just Zoe and Lacy talking in a black room. |

I agree they have the only spark/chemistry of the bunch |

Poor Zoe! First she gets blown up, now she's stuck in a robot body watching her parents frak!!! What could be worse????

Piranhahaha wrote:I agree in general, except that I think it's important for Zoe to explore. She doesn't know what actually happened. She's hearing her mother agonize over the prospect that Zoe was a terrorist, but Zoe knows she wasn't. You would think that she'd be more interested in learning why it's believed she was involved than in how to continue her trip to Geminon. I think that through Lacy's contact with Ben's best friend, that she will learn that arriving in Geminon was never part of the real plan. |

I'm finding the Zoe character REALLY annoying. But I think it's the actress.
I care most about Lacy & Eric Stoltz. I want Momma Graystone to go away. |
