But since she had one season and actually devolved, I put her at about as high as I could.. Not according to the Lividmanda interpretation D= But it was off-camera, so it'll forever be one of those mysteries of Survivor. She was a hard-worker though, and I remember in episode 2 of China when she's talking to Todd saying something like "I love how we're playing this game the same way - doing what we're told, doing lots of work" etc. And I understand your reasoning perfectly, don't worry <3 Oh and ThaiSu, finding an idol may not be strategy, but I think knowing when to play it requires some strategic sense. And the way Amanda handled it to trick everyone else into thinking she didn't have it, then attracting votes to herself required some careful manipulation. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I think Amanda played just as well if not better in Micronesia than in China -- so I'm looking forward to seeing your China-writeup for her. Agrees that Marquesas Rob and Sugar are overdue

Sandra is still on this list, and people are talking about he needs to be out in a strategic ranking? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Have you people even seen Marquesas?

Posts: 10308 (01/30/10 03:23 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Rob had a good strategic sense, but his social game by the time of the merge left him at the wrath of 6 angry Rotu members. In addition to this, Vecepia didn't wanna associate with him and Kathy kinda knew there was no saving him. He played decently to control Maraamu, and then dug himself out of a bad position when swapped to Rotu, but his game imploded at the merge, where all of his side-deals caught up with him and he left before the jury... I don't know if it's the favouritism speaking, but I honestly would've ranked FvF Amanda over him. =/

One could argue Sugar too but I see reasons she could be this high. Mariano in Marquesas did control his tribe yes but he played emotionally in booting Hunter before Gina and set himself up to be axed at F10. ETA: also I credit Gabe for Rob's survival on Rotu more than Rob.

Micronesia Amanda actually played a pretty solid game, and doesn't get enough credit for Erik's blindside. Without her, it's not even close to being possible. Ken, with JT, I get that he played an amazing social game, but his strategic game was very poor. He made all the wrong decisions that benefitted Stephen rather than him, voted out all the people that would take him to the Final 2, and just got lucky that everyone else was so stupid/Stephen giving a horrible FTC. To me, he's just a slightly better version of Ethan.

But even though he voted out people who would've brought him to the finals, he knew he could get himself there once Tyson was gone, so once he started his immunity streak, he got himself to the finals. And he put all those people who wanted him to win on the jury (and he also eliminated Brendan's idol), so it all benefited him in the end. Stephen was in a good position in that anyone of the final 4 would have taken him to the final 2, but JT traded those kind of connections for the ability to win the challenges to guarantee himself a spot at the end, which is just as valid of a strategy to me.

Once the merger hits, it is pretty much Survivor lore that the biggest physical threats that are outside the main alliance are the first to go. Rob had some impressive performances in the episode 6 challenges whereas Sean could barely swim. Rob needed to win immunity, which he failed to do, so he might as well gave tried any possible Hail Mary play to stay in the game.

Brendan and Coach were voting JT no matter what. I would've thought that Sierra would've been an automatic JT vote too but she did have that pathetic delusional rant at JT where she whined that he brought a weak person in Stephen to the end (which was retarded, because Stephen won 2 challenges, which is 2 more than Sierra won), so she might've been bitter at JT? With a good FTC, he has decent shots of getting votes from Taj, Tyson and Debbie, and he almost definitely gets Erinn's vote. Too bad Tocantins didn't have Samoa's penultimate immunity challenge, because JT would've had a lot less of a lead going into the puzzle. What could have been

She was just faking that to Flicka. She said so in her confessional that she didn't want anyone to think she she had a get out of jail free card on the other tribe. When Candice mutinied, she couldn't have anticipated the late merge/early jury/bottle twist/challenges slanted towards Aitu, which all happened after she mutinited, causing her move to backfire. She was much better positioned with Raro than she was with Aitu, so eventually she would've had to turn on Aitu in order to win. So she took the mutiny as an opportunity to get rid of some Aitus before the jury (which ended up not mattering because of the early jury). All of the producer interference that happened after the mutiny caused her originally good move to backfire.

Candice rightfully assumed that Yul/Becky would also realize that Candice/Adam could go right back to Parvati/Adam. Yul/Becky weren't going to join Sundra/Ozzy to kick off Candice/Jonathan, which was dumb on Yul/Becky's part. Candice couldn't anticipate them being dumb like this and because of that wound up being dumb herself. I personally think it would've been hilarious had all of Aitu jumped off the mat and forced a merge... lol.
