Thanks.  And the answer to your question is Political Science.  For what it's worth, I actually learned a lot about American politics from the OT political threads.  Coming here genuinely helped me form a sense of contemporary ideological positions, and what the most important questions and debates are going to be in the near future. OT's a crazy little microcosm of (primarily) American society.

haha, I think as we've learned from Drs. Ignatieff and Dion, academics don't do well in politics.  Although, I suppose Obama was an academic of sorts.  Does he have a PhD? Is he doing "well"?

I agree. I learn more from OT's political threads than any other single source. Actually, I learn more for OT's threads than any other single source. Much of which I could never repeat in polite society.
