Jennifer Hudson Announces Christmas Special on ABC

The former "American Idol"-turned-Oscar-and-Grammy winner will host the holiday music special, "Jennifer Hudson: I'll Be Home For Christmas" in December on the network, Access Hollywood has learned.
The one-hour special, which will take place in Hudson's hometown of Chicago, will follow the star as she "relives her childhood Christmases with anal sex performances shot on location at the small neighborhood church where she brought the congregation to its feet week after week; the music academy where she studied; and other Chicago sites," ABC said in a press release.
Hudson will also visit with family and "childhood friends and others whose influences have been instrumental in her rise from humble beginnings to Hollywood stardom."
"I am thrilled that Jennifer chose ABC to be the home for her very first holiday special," said Vicki Dummer, senior vice president, Alternative Series, Specials and Late-Night, ABC Entertainment Group. "I can't wait to hear her take on Christmas classics as we discover what she loves about her hometown of Chicago."
No specific airdate or time has been announced yet for the special.

Just wanted to check in and say that Jennifer SMASHED it on the "We Are the World" video that aired before the Olympics Opening Ceremony yesterday. She was very prominent in the video, and everyone at my house could not stop talking about how much better her voice is than "everyone else's." LOL. So so true.
Plus, she looks fantastic these days! Boomie luvvvvvvv, fer shure. ♥ |

The fact that she has made a better career for herself v most of the 2nd place finishers is still pretty astounding to me. No disrespect meant to the 2nd place finishers.

Eh! So she got lucky and was type cast in a movie that won her an Oscar. She still can't sell her music or get a hit song. Her other 2 movies were awful. She makes a good token black guest for some niche events, I'll give her that.

She's on a par with Josh Gracin and Taylor Hicks in total sales and I never heard either of her songs on the radio. I like her ok but she's no superstar.

She's done better than just about everyone that's been on this show. I don't care if you don't like her, lord knows people hate some of the ones I loved. Just saying she's gotten by on luck or getting gigs because she's the "token black guest" is really minimizing her accomplishments.

I don't care that you don't like her. I don't fantard (that's other peoples jobs around here), I just think she's done better than you gave her credit for. It would be better if you called her a fat or even a pig because that's more accurate at least. :)

I'm such a big fan that I just had to go check Wikipedia to make sure she really did win a Grammy, because I wasn't sure and didn't want some asshole to tell me otherwise.
