As sucky as The Simpsons have been as of late, I still think the writing is miles ahead of Family Guy. It's just that Family Guy is starting to perfect their schtick of random jokes/no plot. It took them nearly a decade but they're slowly getting there.
Maybe my mind is disjointed, but I dont really get the plots not flowing. Yes there are random jokes thrown in flash back form, but how is that different from say a grounds keeper willie joke thrown into the middle of a simpsons. What would be a prime example of an episode that is all wonky?
