Ben was already becoming a sinister person long before Sayid shot him. We still may not know what the consequences of reviving Ben were. Also, this monumental thing Jack did worked... sorta. I think you have to see that be played up on the island in some fashion. Sayid was dead... "there is no coming back from that". So I think somehow/someway Sayid will have some recollection of the alternate timeline. But trust me, I am probably wrong!

The real issue is what is going to happen to the 2004 people when they reach the 2007 point of time. Or are they saved but now they have to chose to die so they can go on living in the 04 time line.

The second world is another existence where the island was destroyed in 1977 by the nuclear blast and sunk into the ocean thereby affecting their timeline in minute details (i.e., Desmond never encountering Ms. Hawking since she died on the island along with Widmore, so no Penny to fall in love with because she doesn't exist; Hurley winning the lottery and never having bad luck; Ben Linus, who never went to the island becomes a teacher, and so on). I think somewhere down the road these two worlds collide, or maybe we can take from Jacob's talk with the MIB that it's not the ending that counts but the progress that's made along the way... in other words this has been happening continuously in a loop with varying degrees of timeline worlds until the right pieces of the puzzle form a correct and just timeline.

The water itself was murky (as if it was soiled), we know the smoke monster lives (or at least moves around) under the temple, and in the 'Last Supper' promo, Sayid was placed prominently in the Judas position. It would be convenient of him to fool the others (and us) into thinking he was himself, but really is another disciple of MIB.

Remove this ad I think the passengers on Oceanic 815 are gonna start having something similiar happen...maybe not go insane but some sort of feeling that things aren't quite right. Which will lead somehow to the blending of the two realities at the end. Of course, I could be way off base. Since I don't read the spoilers Spoilers won't help you there. I see what you're saying though. Jack was having feelings of deja vu on the plane. It seemed he sensed the plane might crash. He stared at himself in the mirror. He recognized Desmond kinda and since history may have been changed because of the reset we can't chalk that up to meeting Desmond at the stadium. Desmond was on the plane so he was not in the hatch in 2004. It's possible he was never at that stadium either. Jack stared at Kate as if she was familiar. I do think all of them may start having memories of the island and each other. Your theory isn't that crazy. Not to me anyway. I don't think they have to be existing in the same year in different universes for all this to happen. Then again, I'm not an expert on shit like that...

Is that what Flocke meant by home? But Jacob's people own the temple now? What about the cabin? Who was running that? If it wasn't Jacob, then why was Richard taking Ben there. Does that mean Christian is with Jacob even though we thought he was Smokey? And Ben summoned Smokey/MIB for judgment, but how would he have access to do that if he was Team Jacob his whole life? Are Jacob and MIB really enemies or just really good friends screwing with each other in a male-competition sort of way. Sooooo confusing....

Of course Locke will get fixed by Jack, Sawyer will find Clemintine, etc... The show will end happy. In the mean time, the 2007 timeline must end. Clearly the M.I.B. getting off the island is bad news. So once he's stopped, the timeline will no longer have any importance. It's not necessary anymore.

Can't Jacob be in Sayid's dead body like MIB was in dead Locke's body? Granted there were two Locke bodies...but I am not sure if MIB can inhabit more than one person at a time...

I like this one, because I understand it. But if the island was destroyed in 1977, that means the past 5 years were a waste of our time and Id be pissed off.

Only if you're clearly, most sincerely dead. And you don't have those waters and that temple handy. I'm temporarily abandoning my Sayid is Jacob thing, because Sayid's body would still be laying there if Jacob became Sayid, like Locke's poor body all spilled out on the sand and nobody seems to give a shit. Bury him or at least put him back in the box. Better yet, set him on fire. I'm still thinking that the alt-Losties are just the ones in the "real world" whose plane didn't crash. That there was some kind of Casimir Effect when Juliet hit the bomb, and that's why there is an alt-thing going on. This is the only way things can go on without there being a paradox. So they have been duplicated, somehow. Just don't let them touch! Need to think about that some more, though. Or not. I really wanted to hug Jack and Locke in that little lost luggage scene. So good.

Present-day Desmond couldn't be in the hatch because the hatch was never built in his timeline. He probably wasn't ever at the stadium either because in his timeline there's no adult Charles Widmore sponsoring a race around the world that Desmond would be training for. At least, that's my best guess. :)
