Okay, I see your point... which was that the editing was skewed towards the Favorites to the extent that, had one of the Fans (say, Natalie) been a strategic mastermind with a phenomenal social game, we would have seen them edited into the background unless they actually managed to win. I do feel, though, that the casting of that tribe in the first place was skewed to favor the favorites, because there were a lot of the fans that were, frankly, duds. (Kathy, Chet, Jason...) It is entirely plausible that Natalie had a much better social game and relations with the jurors than I had perceived or editing had shown, or that enmity towards Parv/ Cirie/ Amanda would have helped her in that she could win in an Amber-like fashion, getting the votes cast against her opponent. Natalie's style of play would be not unlike Vecepia's or Danni's in that she deliberately kept herself off the radar and made deals at the end, problem being that Natalie was outside the three women on the Favorites tribe, and they would fear that she would sweep the Fans votes. Bizarrely, I think Parvati is actually the one that Natalie has the best chance to beat in a final... in that Amanda had James and Ozzy, and I have to say that I suspect Cirie would be a formidable opponent for Natalie to face in a final two situation because I think if any of those three women could get some unlikely swing votes to forgive her, it would be Cirie. Like Amanda, I actually think Natalie is a lot more dangerous in a final three situation than a final two because she has a few core votes she can rely on and hope that her opponents split the rest.

The Tocantins jury should be most embarrassed. They had a 6-3 advantage and let the minority pick them off (without the use of idols). Hell, half of them actually seemed to be playing the game for JT to win rather than themselves.

Alexis, as I said, was shafted, as was Chet. Jason and Eliza were, according to other contestants, annoying and delusional, but we never really saw why (and that made me actually like both). And I agree about what you said about Tracy and Joel, but I still think their edit was pretty good. So, maybe you are right about the edit. On a first watch, I disliked Micronesia's pre-merge myself. However, on rewatch, I wasn't bored, episode 3 aside (I hate that episode with a fiery passion). On contrary, it was one of the seasons I enjoyed the most on rewatch. Maybe it's easy to enjoy it for what it is after you don't have expectations. |

Maybe it's easy to enjoy it for what it is after you don't have expectations. In a sense, I judge seasons by how good they are on rewatch. Because I judge them more based on character development than strategy. When you have seen the episodes before and know who leaves (or look at spoilers/whatever), the suspense is taken out of the game. If the suspense is taken out, all the show has left to go for it are the characters. If more than half of the characters in a season were underutilized, how can you enjoy it as much as other seasons that do show everyone in at least some light? If Borneo and Australia only focused on 3 or 4 people instead of the entire case, then I would be used to this and fine, but we all know the editors are much more capable at producing seasons.

Again, I don't disagree with anything you said. I don't know, but I liked most of the characters on rewatch anyway. :O
But yeah, they should have showed more of Clem/Alexis. |

personally, i think the vanuatuan jury have a lot of soul searching to do, 6:1 female to male ratio, chris gets to final 2, and who's with him at the end....twila and scout

They took out the strong guys early and got their asses handed to him by the girls repeatedly, and I say GOOD RIDDANCE. One of the stupidiest alliances ever. The girls don't need to do soul searching. They were blindsided by Twila and Scout, that recruited the underdogs. It's that simple. It's not like they've had many many chances to get rid of Chris and never done it, as they kicked out the rest of the Fat Five one by one beforehand; they had one chance, they only thought of not using it, and immediately they were screwed. That's just good gameplay from Twila and Scout. |

It may be good gameplay by Twila and Scout, but it was even better gameplay by Chris, and laying it on thick to his fiancee to guilt Ami into not going after him was amazing.
