As far as Sayid, I think Jacob is inhabiting him and will use him for his agenda, whatever may be. Jacob allowed himself to be killed so easily by Ben because he had a greater plan in place, IMO.

Back to the cabin--who was that that said "help me" to Locke? Was it MIB or Jacob? Illana and her crew said that someone else had been using the cabin so it makes it appear that MIB/Smokey was in the cabin (a la Christian perhaps?). So, was the ash around the cabin to keep MIB/Smokey in or keep him out?

Im curious where Widmore comes into all of this. He told Locke he needed to get back to the Island because someting about the wrong side winning if he isnt there. That kinda makes you think he is somehow with MIB and Smokey. But he also tried to help Locke bring the others back to the Island as well...which seems like a Jacob thing to do.
He also seemed to be aware that Locke was going to have to die...but did he know it was Ben who was going to Kill him? |

Just checking if missed any other 'differences' on the plane flight:
Jack gets 1 vodka, not 2; he's nervous & Rose is calm; Bernard is wearing his wedding ring this time; Shannon stays in Aussie; Hugo's lucky; Desmond's random sit-in. *Charlie chokes on his stash in the wrong bathroom - he went towards the front of the plane in the pilot.* ~~~ Other thoughts: Wouldn't a US Marshall either be 1st off the plane w/ Kate, or - at the very least - be met @ the airport by other Marshalls & get to jump the customs line?? Did Kate even have a passport? If the water was clear @ the Temple, would Sayid have survived? Wouldn't a person who is wheelchair-bound get a bulkhead seat? |

Is Desmond now Jack's constant? Or his variable? Perhaps that bloody spot on the neck is something like the bleeding nose, but with more of an Ebola flair to it, but I don't expect Jack to be jumping around at all. It's more like a small blood spot just for going into the alternate time frame.. It also seemed like Jacob hesitated when he was deciding what Hurley should do with Sayid. Perhaps he realized that the water had turned dirty and knew that it wouldn't be as potent as before. It was odd because Jacob has always seemed so decisive. This was the first time he appeared to have some trepidation as to what needed to be done. |

Claire got out of the taxi though. relief. Did she? I missed that. Wouldn't a person who is wheelchair-bound get a bulkhead seat? I'm not sure exactly what a bulkhead seat is in a plane, but I'm gonnna say no. The only special thing I got when my crippled ass flew down to Florida a couple years ago was I got to get on the plane first. |

who was that that said "help me" to Locke? Was it MIB or Jacob? I'm thinking we've never seen any incarnation of Jacob in that cabin. Shannon stays in Aussie Though I realize Darlton indicated this was true last night, I'm still not convinced Shannon isn't just in her assigned seat on the plane. Boone never said "she's not on the plane", he just said "she didn't want to get out of the relationship", which was what happened in the first timeline (Shannon later changed her mind). Maybe Boone and Shannon had a fight on the plane and Boone changed seats to get away from her. As I recall they had seats at the front of the fuselage (but not first-class, they couldn't get tickets). Occam suggests Shannon's gone though. Charlie chokes on his stash in the wrong bathroom - he went towards the front of the plane in the pilot. I guess I didn't notice it was a different bathroom. But I did notice that Charlie never ran to the front before the turbulence started...originally he passed between Jack and Rose. Jack and Rose? Is this an alternate timeline where the Titanic pulled safely into New York harbor? If the water was clear @ the Temple, would Sayid have survived? One presumes. Shaolin Dude dipped his cut hand in and looked concerned when nothing happened. My theory is that Jacob or whatever entity is inhabiting Sayid colored the water so that Sayid WOULD die, giving the entity an available body. |

I'm not completely sold on MiB inhabiting Sayid. I rewatched the premier today. I paid attention to when the ash was put around the temple in comparison to when Sayid came back to life. It seems like the ash was around the temple by the time he woke up. The hippie other didn't seem concerned with taking precautions anymore when he came in to talk to Jack. It seemed like the precautions they took once they learned about Jacob being dead were already done. So if the ash was around the temple I don't think the MiB could get to Sayid. There's plenty of reason though to suspect that it is indeed the MiB inhabiting Sayid so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

How could the MiB be inhabiting Sayid? He's making his way somewhere with Richard on his back, we've not seen any indication that he can be two places at once. No, that can't be right, at all. I'm skeptical about Sayid being Jacob, even.

Well, they did say that Walt not being on the plane wasn't a coincidence. Forget the age thing, they could have recast and found a look alike.
Interesting though that Sayid woke up after they encircled the temple. Hmmm |

I thought it might be MIB in the cabin that said help me, but as far as they showed us when Ben and Locke went to the cabin, the powder ring was still intact. Someone said on here that MIB took the form of Christian and got Claire so that she could make a break in the powder so that he could get into the cabin. I liked that theory. I wonder what else MIB did to Claire since she acted so weird. I have never bought the "Claire is half dead" theory btw I think we need to make a distinction between inhabiting and taking the form of. MIB seems to take the form of dead people. Sayid is "alive", and Darlton used the word "inhabited" when referring to him. Something is inhabiting his actual body. |

What does Sayid say at the end - "what happened?"? That seems the most logical thing, but the more I listen to it, the more it seems there are weird consonants in there, almost like he's speaking another language. Is it just me? Did anyone else have trouble understanding him? Maybe it's just his sweet accent.

I think that Jacob's plan was to 'take over' Sayid's body but Smokey anticipated that move by Jacob so he sent his smokey self into the spring and into the temple. By his essence being in the spring water, Smokey was able to take over Sayid in place of Jacob. That one dude made sure we, the audience, knew the water was murky by stating the obvious. We've seen Smokey be summoned through murky water before... |

I don't think so... I can't think of a single reason MiB would need another body. And if that's the case why not take over any random dead body from the island in the past. He needed a specific type person/body. (loophole)
He didn't just say that she didn't want to get out, he followed it with something like "and so, here I am." Which sounds to me like he's returning solo. Agree. Shannon wasn't on the plane. |

And the security woman called her "Miss Paik". So maybe they aren't married. Maybe they had to run away because they couldn't get married? Maybe Sun is married to Jae and ran away with Jin? But yeah, something is different there : )CC1018 wrote:For some reason, I expected Sun and Jin's relationship to be different than it was in season 1, but it wasn't. |
