Are you claiming it's impossible for Adam to reach one million in sales? Think before you answer so you avoid looking more ridiculous than you already do.

My original comment was kind of in response to Miki saying he thought he'd at least reach 750K when he released If I Had You as a single. I then looked at his weekly sales and noticed he hadn't sold less than 10K copies in any given week since his release. And I did say IF he can maintain that number, which is also why I said I'm cautiously optimistic. nothing is guaranteed and his sales could bottom out in the next few weeks where he's selling between 3-5K per week and then all bets are off I suppose. I guess I'm missing the humor is speculating that he could reach a million by the end of the year shrug

I think that's a good amount. With the amount of promo, it should be higher but the same was for Kelly. I think that's ok. He will have probably a Gold single with WWFM and his 3rd single will go very well and most likely gold for If I Had You. He's doing pretty good for an exhibitionist gae with the kind of sound he has. BTW, Adam's album has climbed up the Kanadian albums chart and has jumped from 15 last week to 8 on the national charts. His album is in the top 10 again. His music videos are always #1-3 on viewer countdowns on Much More Music and Much Music. He also get decent airplay here. I think he's more popular in Kanada than in the US.

Maybe as time goes on, he will control himself often enough and gain a bit of trust again. When the AMA debacle happened, I honestly didn't think it would affect future appearances. I thought what he did was outrageous, but the music community seemed to allow a certain amount of obscenity. I think they made a good decision by putting their foot down. Adam was in the wrong place at the right time. I also noticed that Kanye was not at the Grammys....another good decision.

It's all on like a 10-15 second time delay per the FCC regulations I think. That's how they are able to edit out swear words in songs, which they were clearly able to do for Eminem and his rape song at the AMA's. Although admittedly, they knew those were the lyrics and Adam has said that the things he did that offended people weren't planned so if they didn't know they couldn't plan for it. I agree that Adam was in the wrong place at the right time and he went off the rails and ended up paying a price for it. ABC, for whatever reason, decided to make an example out of him even though IMO, he didn't really do anything different than what females have been doing for a decade or more. I do think he learned a very valuable lesson because of that situation. He's not performing at the Zodiac when he's on TV so he needs to be aware of his audience and cater his performance to the medium in which he's working and he's said as much himself that in hindsight he would've rehearsed it like that and let ABC decide if they liked it. and he would've sung it better, which he def needed to do LOL

Even Clay apologized for criticizing Adam's Ring of Fire. It really seems to help people get over it. Adam does not think he did anything wrong. Even when he was told he offended many parents and their children, he still refuses to apologize. He just makes up excuses or rationalizes that people are prejudice and he is not a babysitter. That is unbelievable. My parents use to quote this: "Pride goeth before a fall". I beleive it may be from the Bible. Regardless, he should really think about it.

I don't disagree that the lack of an actual apology probably kept the storm brewing but I'm actually glad he didn't apologize. I was worried that he would just to cowtow to the knee jerk reactionairies who basically freaked over nothing. IMO if he had apologized just to appease people he'd be a sell out. I think too many celebrities do things and then to save face or regain public favor they apologize but they don't really mean it. It's just meaningless words said to make someone else feel better and that's pretty worthless in the grand scheme of things IMO. I don't remember the incidents which caused Hasselhoff to apologize but I do remember the one from Michael Richards (Kramer) from Seinfeld. He made a really offensive racial slur in public. That in no way compares to a entertainer getting carried away during a performance where no nudity or profanity takes place IMO. Clay's "non-apology" was a joke. He did say he didn't intend on offending anyone and I believe it. What he did is much different than someone who goes out and intentionally does something offensive to shock people. He got caught up in the moment. In the end apology or not, he didn't hurt anyone but himself and I really think people made a bigger deal out of it than was necessary. He is averaging right now about 5K per week. At that rate, if he were able to maintain 5K per week it would take him a little over 2 1/2 years to reach platinum. However, like Adam he'll appear on idol, probably more than once and get a nice sales boost out of it so cut about about six months off that time frame. Also, if he releases another hit song people might start buying his album instead of just his singles and his sales could increase. Kris has a much larger hill to climb to reach one million but it's not impossible as proven by Lady Gaga and Katy perry who both started off with pretty slow sales and as they got hits on radio their sales picked up. my prediction for Kris in 2010 is that he'll be gold by the end of the year without a doubt.
