okay, this is kinda crazy... but what if JOHN LOCKE is now inhabiting Sayid's body?
Nightline and Jimmy Kimmel last night were awesome, btw. if you didn't see them, you should see if they're available online somewhere. Michael Emerson was interviewed also, on the news that came on right after LOST. Was that only on my local affiliate? |

I think Shannon was written out because the actress was unvailable, but they said on Kimmel that they hoped Shannon would return.
I never saw Claire exit the cab. Couldn't tell if she was preggers or not. |

Regarding Sun being called "Miss Paik" and something being different: I wondered when she said "no English" if in fact she really didn't know English. I mean, with Hurley being "the luckiest guy in the world"; Rose not afraid of flying, etc., etc., perhaps Sun's history had also changed and she didn't take the English lessons in order to leave Jin when they got to the U.S.

I felt like Sun was still hiding her English knowledge. Just the way she hesitated.

I'm not saying anyone is wrong but the idea of John Locke inhabiting Sayid's body is .. umm.. I ain't feeling it. Plus how many Lockes we need this season? We got a corpse, MiB and Sideways World Locke.

This episode should have made Jate fans happy as I think there was some significance in her helping Jack first when forced to choose between the two.

But he could still be trying to gain Hurley's trust to con him. I think he is still a con man. eta: I also agree with Felicia, not feeling DeadLocke inhabiting anyone.

I really like the theories on here. I have (2) questions. Did anyone else notice how chubby Emilie de Ravin's face was in the cab? She looked like she was really pregnant. Is she pregnant in real life? I've never seen her face so round. Also, in the Season 5 finale "The Incident", does anyone else remember there being a small pool of water in Jacob's foot statue? I thought there was water where they had the fire pit in the premiere episode. That is why I thought the water in the temple was discolored. Because it was connected with the water that Jacob was thrown into. Of course, if it wasn't water before, that blows that theory.

Well since Damon & Carlton said specifically on Kimmel last night that Smokey and Locke were one and the same, I'm now going to refer to him/them as Smocke.
I don't know what the water in the temple being murky means, but I do know that the azn temple leader intended Sayid to 'die' in that he directed his men to hold him underwater until the sand ran out of the hourglass. |

In essence, the orginal 2004-1977-2007 time line will be undone and erased. Maybe Jacob comes around and says thanks for the help, you can go home now. idk. but the main point is that 2007 will cease to exist by the end of the finale. Then the 5 years prior will be erased. The losties will never have been on the island whatsoever. The new 2004 timeline is the one that will ultimately matter.I like your theory except for this part. It completely ruins all the "OMG! WTF" moments we've all enjoyed over the past 5 years. As much as I loved Shannon, Nikki/Paolo, etc, for their deaths to just be "erased" bothers me. |

I think it's a foregone conclusion that the new 2004 timeline is the "final draft" of the timeline. The 2007 storyline has to wrap up in the finale, which would leave us with only 5-10 minutes or so for a "where are they now?" montage. That sucks because there's over 20 characters or so fans have grown attached to and they need more closure than that. By doing it this way, we still get the big explosion edge-of-your-seat Lost finale, but had the "where are they now?" montage spread out throughout an entire season in Lost flash back-forward-sideways-over-under fashion.
I'm also upset that this means all the deaths and everything that happened will be stuck in a time-loop that ultimately closes/never happens, but it's nice to know fate ultimately has them all connecting even without the island, instead of "welp, that was a long flight...cya strangers!". |

A few posts up someone mentioned all the differences on the LAX flight. Another one is Cindy's accent. She's not Aussie when she gives Jack his 1 bottle of Vodka. But she's Aussie back on the island when she brings in the kids.
I saw a cute name for UnLocke on Twitter today. - - - Smocke. It fits because we KNOW he's Smokey + Locke. I like it. I'm of the belief that the sideways parallels aren't like 2 strings being pulled tightly in one direction. I think they are moving in a wave & at times get close to the crossing island timelines. This is why Jack sees the blood on his neck (when Sawyer is beating the piss out of him on the island) & when he gets de ja vu when he speaks to Desmond. The times "bleed" into each other at certain intervals. I know I'm not explaining this right because I know zip about quantum physics but I hope I made my point. And the title LA X -- there is a space after LA before the X. Meaning the X stands for something else besides the airport. "X" marks the spot? "X" is the beginning point? I'm going to try to take Darlton's advice & not try to over think things here. I have confidence that they'll tell a cohesive story I can grasp in the long run. |
