Not every handball is a foul... but no doubt that one was! Ireland was screwed!! FIFA would never be happy having a major team (and source of profit) like France being out of the tournament!
Europe should be allocated more spots in the World Cup. I know that it seems like they get more than their fair share already, but mid-level European teams can beat most of the best of other continents... so that's why the World Cup is not the most competitive soccer tournament in the world.. that title probably goes to the the Euro Cup.
If some of the South/North America American and African Countries had the kind of final resources and Clout the larger European Countries FA's had and like Europe had The World Cup scheduled around their convinience mid level 2nd tier countries like Egypt,Colombia would give even the biggest European teams a run for the money like they do at youth level Intl comps when everything is at a more level playing field.
