I'm surprised so many people think Joey the aussie was hott, but I definitely agree. I think he was the only attractive contestant Shear Genius has had. Most of them are just as ugly as cqinspage^^ (who posted above)...

I was in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago and was treated to a spa day at the Mirage. I guess it's Kim Vo's salon, so I asked the manicurists about him and mine went on and on about how nice and personable he is. Plus she said his rates for color are very reasonable. Who knows? Maybe she was lying, but she seemed sincere.

I can't believe I actually watched it this season and liked it. I have a feeling Alves will get on my nerves by the 2nd epi, though.

Ugh. Hate the host. Hate the shortened and sadly uncampy opening credits. Dislike the judges, but Kim Vo was funnier than I remember and Jonathan is more tolerable than I remember from Blow Out. I might warm up to them.
The cast though has promise. Lots of distinct characters, lots of ego (I feel like high-end stylists have to overcompensate here because for as good as they think they are... it's still just cutting hair), and BRIG, the skating hair-crochet expert who hails from the faraway land of Simi Valley. Fucking love her. |

I did laugh when she said "I could do that!" re: Adee's hair, but I was laughing at her, not with her, and then I felt sad for her.
