Come on now; a tribe of Lex, Ethan, Colby and Hatch? They could have easily wiped the floor with Chapera at challenges if they hadn't have cannibalized each other.

While I agree that getting rid of Hatch was a bad move, I don't think Colby planned on going after Lex and Ethan once Hatch was gone. IMO, Ethan was a bigger target than Colby because he was a previous winner. Shii Ann would have been the one I got rid of, and I think she would have been next, but Lex went bezerk and started voting off all of their strength so that he could live out his fanatasies of running a harem or something...

Shii Ann would not have gone next. She was Kathy's (who was over at Chapera) ally and Lex would have lost Kathy's trust if he got rid of Shii Ann. The big mistake was keeping Jerri instead of Colby. Any one of Lex/Ethan/Colby would most likely have done better than Jerri or Rob at the archery challenge that Jerri completely failed at and led to Ethan being voted out.

The original target was Ethan, until Colby switched it up to get rid of the untrustworthy Hatch and keep loyal Ethan. If the original target was Jerri or ShiiAnn or Kathy, then Colby would share in the blame for the destruction of Mogo Mogo.

Lex could have voted Jerri out with Ethan and Colby (proven loyal partners) when Kathy went to Chapera on the yacht. Even if he didn't have the trust of Kathy and Shii ann anymore who gives a fuck, Chapera (Romber) would have targeted Ethan and Colby instead of Lex as soon as the tribes merged. Lex could have sold Kathy on joining the three guys and then tried to bring in big Tom. To be fair Romber played a superior game and I don't think mogo mogo had a chance no matter how strong they kept the tribe on paper. Rob was in the zone and Amber was surprisingly tough (rotating wheel challenge) and Rupert was no slouch back then. Still, Lex played the game like a dumbass in so many ways.
