Sanada is a karate God. Screw all that punching each other in the face, he just sticks out his thumb.

She was there because all the tailies the Others kidnapped became part of the Others clan (for lack of a better word). When the freighties and all that bullshit was going down they sent everyone to the temple so they'd be safe.

That's what I think, too.

What I'm wondering is who is the leader of The Others now? Locke's dead, Ben left the island, Richard is just "an advisor"......Personally, I'd vote for the karate guy at the temple (if I had a vote). He seems to have his shit together, as do most of the Others at the temple. They shoot off their warning rocket and everyone at the beach is all "Ooohhh, wow, a rocket" and stand around stupidly. The Temple Others are mysterious and kick-ass and the Regular Others just seem like dumb sheep. I guess I'm wondering if the "leader" was just a puppet all along and not included in all the Temple mumbo-jumbo secret signal stuff? If so, Ben will really be pissed off now....

I never got all that Leader stuff. They never really explained it, and I never really cared why someone would want the job. It's one of those things we were supposed to blindly accept as being important? Why? Are you leading them somewhere important? Or are you just a glorified PA to Jacob/MiB? Not a good part of the story, to me.

Let's call the Other's Leader "Cain"
He gives me that Kung Fu feeling, espesh with his wise response about speaking English. kudos to Hurley for bitchslapping him on that one |

Pretty sure that character has a name but I'm too lazy to look it up.

I no longer think that, but I do still think the leaders weren't leading shit. Heh, Yuku spellcheck says Widmore is spelled wrong. |

Name means nothing to me either, but thanks for the info.

MIB devised the system after his conversation with Jacob in order to enact his loophole plan. MIB creates a hierarchy system on the island, shepherds all the straglling "natives" together under the leadership of a figurehead...and talks through Richard. Makes the leader and the Others think Jacob is actually their God, whn in fact, he sits in a statue all day and has a "do not get involved" philosophy. Created this system as part of his plan to get a leader of the Others to have the desire to, and under their own free will, to kill Jacob. The plan never really came to fruition until Ben came along and was scorned by a god/father figure who actually never really knew or cared about him. |

Created this system as part of his plan to get a leader of the Others to have the desire to, and under their own free will, to kill Jacob. Oh shit, maybe you're right. I've always thought part of the loophole involved manipulating a leader of the Others. It's still not ridiculous to think that the leaders had a title and that's about it. |

The only reason why i think being the "leader" of the Others had something to do with MIB's loophole to kill Jacob when he himself couldnt...is because the only other instance in Lost where two people discussed wanting to kill each other, but not being able to because of "rules"...was between Ben and Widmore.
Who happened to both be leaders of the Others at some point? It cant be just a coincidence....there has to be a connection, no? |

I don't think it's a coincidence at all. In fact I've had discussions about this Jacob/MiB - Ben/Widmore similarity with a friend.
I wonder if it's different with B/W though. Could one break the rules (whatever they are) and kill the other? Is it possible? Do you think not harming family was another rule? If so, it was broken. Ben was thisclose to killing Penny because he blamed Widmore for Alex's death. |

So we had some others wearing rags living at the Temple and stealing losties, while other Others lived at the barracks in nice clothes and accomodations? And the well-dressed ones occasionally put on rags just for show?
And what made Danielle's team want to kill her after going to the Temple? Did Sayid lose his innocence? |
