WTF AT SUGAR STILL IN THIS

I love Sugar and I do believe she did play a pretty good game but there's no way she played a better game than Tom. Without even considering their strategic game, Sugar was way worse than Tom socially and physically. She's still a legend though <3

I personally think Tom should be much higher, and at least above someone like Candice.
The way he played (and won) was unique from almost any other player in that his style was to be dominant. He said not to hold him at fault for showing his physical abilities early on and I think the only way to follow up that gameplay is to continue a strong-showing post-merge. Other winners like Tina or Yul had their 'cult-leading' abilities where they had the rest of the tribe following their moral code and voting accordingly, and in Tom's case, he really did convince everyone else that he deserved it, without coming across in an entitled way. I don't think you should ever hold winning challenges against someone since it's a part of the game. Their ultimate effect in the game balances out.. if there were no immunity challenges in the game, then there would be no need to vote someone out for being a physical threat, etc.. What would you say in the cases for players who played brilliantly, but were one or two challenges away from winning the game? Yea, they didn't rely on challenges, but had they won the game, they would've needed to. One example I'm thinking of is Cirie in FvF... had she won the final immunity challenge, and brought Parvati and won Survivor, would you hold it against her for needing to win that one challenge? =O |

also wtf at JT beating Tom, too. JT was a weak rip-off of Tom with a horrible strategic game, and he also needed to win the last two immunities to make it to the end. Also, he only started winning challenges once all the stronger people got out, when Tom won challenges all season long. The only thing that JT did better than Tom was his social game, and that wasn't even that much better. Tom's far superior physical/strategic games outweigh JT's slightly superior social game, imo.

One more thing. I'm quite possibly the biggest Stephtard on the planet, but I still think that Tom should be above her, so you didn't make a mistake in ranking him higher =]

JT's social game was better than Tom's because Tocantins people were starstruck... I'll never know why though.
Also, <3 for everyone that defended Tom. Good to see he's not underrated. |

I'd say Tom had much bigger competition for all his immunity challenges, Ian, Gregg, Jenn, Steph were all pretty strong.
After Brendan/Tyson left back to back, JT only had Stephen, Sierra, Taj, Erinn, Coach and Debbie to compete with, the biggest individual immunity threat was arguably Debbie |

Tom also dominated the tribal portion of challenges, too. JT singlehandedly lost his tribe two challenges right before the merge o_O

I hate Tom with a passion, but he played an amazing game. The way he treated Caryn was terrible, and I hate him for it. With that said, it was brilliant how he played her. Yes, Gregg, my favorite Koror, was targeting him, but he wasn't close to being successful because the way Tom had enough people (Ian, Katie, Caryn) around his finger. That's like saying Chris played poorly because he was targeted at the first TC for a challenge fuck up. He got himself out of the pickle, and so did Tom. The first time Tom was in danger was at the final four, and he was only in danger because of his threat status. If you are taken out for solely being a threat that late in the game, you are not undeserving. There is no way he should be below someone who wasn't playing to win (Sugar), someone with an awful social game (Rob and Sugar), someone who was at risk or voted out before the final 4 (pretty much everyone except JT, Colby, Micronesia Cirie, China Amanda, and Rob).

I don't see Tom leaving at F5 if he loses immunity. So he only needed the last 2 =]

Another thing; IMO Tom has one of the best FTC performances ever. I'd say it was on par with the likes of Chris' or Todd's.
Yes, he was up against Katie who everyone ripped on, but he still did an amazing job in telling everyone excactly what they wanted to hear. For instance the way he handled Caryn's and Steph's questions was pretty flawless. |

Yeah I agree that Tom's FTC performance was one of the best ever, but Chris' is at an entirely different level. His was almost as good as Todd's, though.

I don't think Chris' FTC will ever be topped.
