Steph and Cirie got a lot of attention too. I'd say Steph got more attention than most. She even had that little interlude about being the last on her tribe, blah, blah, blah... Players that got similar treatment to Steph were Russ, Coach, and Parvati. Jerri and Colby didn't really get a segment about how they impacted the game like Coach (struggling in the IC with his back), Parvati (the flirt), Steph (the sole Survivor), or Russ (the puppet master). There was just a passing mention of Jerri as a villainess (as outlined by herself) and Colby as the ultimate hero (as stated by Parvati). I think Colby and Jerri were on par with Cirie in terms of treatment by the special. Rupert got the best treatment of the returning Survivors because of the Rupert's Kids stuff. He was really the only returning one featured (along with Hatch, Elisabitch and Ethan).
SU stated that the reason those people were chosen was because they were the ones back in LA in time. I think it's probably just as likely because they represent a good cross section of the show and they're all relatively well known. I thought they all did a great job...they're all well spoken. Even James, who usually mumbles, has really improved.
