Todd did make big moves in that he engineered the HII findings which led James to having two of them in the first place.  He kept Denise in via reward so Peih-Gee couldn't work her magic, and -- obvi -- Amanda didn't decide to try and pull some shit with PG because Amanda was a follower.  Todd brought in Frosti, fracturing Zhan-Hu from even being a solid 4 at merge.  Todd kept Zhan Hu fractured.  And Todd -- despite the edit -- was NEVER going to boot JR at the F11; that was all edit to keep you guessing.  Those are moves.  Amanda cannot even compare.

This is just delusional. Todd's plan with James backfired, and Amanda cleaned up his mess. The Denise thing is not a big move, it's just being smart, which yes, Todd was. But Amanda didn't NEED to make any moves with Peih-Gee because Amanda was the winner of Survivor: China up until her FTC. The thing with Frosti? Not a big deal. Zhan Hu didn't need to be fractured, they were 4, which is less than 6. Now you're talking edit? Okay, Todd, despite the edit, was not in charge of Fei-Long and Amanda, despite the edit, was a better player. Actually, Amanda even with the edit was a better player.

No, there's nothing wrong with sticking to your alliance -- when your alliance is in power!  Sugar had no grand alliance with Kota.  What did she do?  She made one with Fang.  They said they'd be the "Fang 4" at a 4-6 merge.  Twist happened, Marcus is gone, it's now 4-4-1.  Kota worked Sugar to try and get her back, but she cut Charlie loose because Fang was her alliance -- not Kota.  She didn't have the luxury of a big merge alliance like Amanda!

Okay, but comparing Sugar's situation to Amanda's situation and saying Amanda is a worse player because she was in the majority and didn't flip is a) stupid and b) what you did in your last post. And yes, you're right, but Amanda did have that luxury because Amanda's tribe was better and because Amanda didn't vote out her closest ally the Tribal Council before :)

She also didn't "cut Charlie loose," the rest of her alliance wanted Charlie gone, when Sugar wanted Corinne or Randy. So actually, that just shows that Sugar didn't have as much control as you claim, she was just the swing vote. That was a position she ended up in as a result of the merge after the swap, whereas Amanda was in control, which is a position she put herself in.

Sugar's "camwhoring" is vastly overstated when it comes to her game on Survivor, isolated.  Is she a camwhore?  GODYES.  But that makes her unpredictable and her gameplay is a product of it, like or lump.  Should EVERYTHING be attributed to its unpredictability?

No, it's really not overstated at all, it's actually not stated enough. Sugar, just like Russell, lost because she wasn't playing Survivor the game, she was playing Survivor the show.

For example, say Susie does NOT win immunity at F4.  Maybe Sugar has a "change of heart" and wants to give Susie a chance as a "good mother", just like she did for Bob?  You never know.  We'll never know.  That's a part of the edit, and it's part of what gives Sugar such a mystique.  You can't sit and go "CAMWHORE!!!!" to undercut the gameplay at hand, especially vis-a-vis aspiring actress "theamandakimmel" who croc-teared it up many times before Sugar even graced our screens.

You're not even reading what I'm saying. Sugar's camera-whoring effected her gameplay, because she made moves that didn't benefit her in terms of winning and had a personality that made everyone hate her. Sugar's clearly not stupid, but she didn't play the game to win and she didn't, and she didn't even come close. It's great if you make the final 3 but if you have no shot at getting a single vote and then you still manage to make it worse by telling people not to vote for you, you're just not a better player than someone who dominated their season and only tanked their FTC.

CR, I actually agree with everything you said about Sugar and I mostly agree with her placement on this list, too. I'm glad that you didn't put the other 8 below her since they were all actually trying to win and actually had a great shot. At the same time, I think she's clearly a smart girl and could have won if she had actually been trying.
