The only thing that bugs me about the standalones is I really like the mythology of this show. And each time a standalone comes up, I fear they're wasting time this show may not have since it's very much on the bubble.

I completely agree, but I think the standalone episodes are what pulls more viewers in (if there are any more viewers to be had) considering that you don't need backstory on those.

This show needs more Blair Brown and pronto. In general, think about all the hype about Leonard Nimoy being on the show, and we've literally seen him for a combined total of maybe 2 minutes. Unfortunately, I feel like Fox told them to clamp down on the continuing story in favor of X-Files Lite.

I agree, you can tell Fox has put down the order to do more self-contained episodes. In fairness to them though, JJ was everywhere before it premiered saying it would not have a deep, complex mythology like Lost. He said it was going to be a sci-fi procedural. That's why I didn't watch it (after the leaked pilot). I only got into the show over the summer when I heard rumblings of a good mythology and an awesome finale twist.

He's looking a little rough, for a second thought makeup was keeping with a previous episode and had Peter's body reeling from the after affects of being infected. Which is, unlikely. But JJ's fucking hot, mhmm.
Walter asking Peter if Olivia would call him dad. |

this episode was a step up from the last one. the nazi element was interesting, and the information about walter's father and their family was fun to find out about. not sure what they're trying to imply or tie in with his father living for so long and being, evil? malevolent?
but anyway, next week's winter finale looks like it should deliver. i really hope this show's ratings start to improve, i really enjoy watching it, and one of the few shows where i enjoy the standalone eps almost as much as the plot arc ones. oh but tonight was severely lacking on astrid scenes. more please. although the scene where she freaked out after walter took a breath of the inhaler was funny. |

I enjoyed last night too. The "dad" comment from Walter was great. I love how he just assumes they'll get married. Totally surprised Walter killed that guy, but glad the writers weren't afraid to have him to do it. Next week does look good.

For as much screen time as Blair Brown is getting, they might as well list Jimmy Hoffa as a regular in the credits. |

Guess no one is interested in this show anymore
Olive (Olivia) finally sees that Peter is from the other side ;) I kind of think Walter wanted her to see. Or else why would he have let her see Peter in her drugged state. I'll miss this show when it is canceled.. however fucked up crazy it may be. Cancellation is just my speculation in light of no one really watches this show. Noticeable in the ratings. |

I thought it was a good epi tonight. I hope they don't cancel it.

Good epi last night, I guessed that Olivia would perceive Peter as from the other side......and I think the fear that brought her ability back was the fear that Peter might be from the other world. Hope Fringe can hang on a while. I don't know why anyone is watching The Office instead of this, that show and its 3 jokes jumped the shark a long time ago. Grey's Anatomy has improved over last season. Never been a fan of CSI. So watch it! And hope Fox moves it to a better night.

I enjoyed last night's show too. The way Walter asked Olivia not to tell Peter was cute. He seemed so vunerable. I think it would be cool to have some flashbacks to Walter adjusting to the alternate Peter. Can you imagine losing a child and then getting a similiar version of them? That would be kind of freaky and sad.

I really like this show. I'm going to be really pissed off if Fringe gets canceled. It's one of my top 5 shows on TV, the stories, the acting and the premise are excellent. I still watch 24 but it doesn't hold a candle to Fringe.

Long-time lurker here.
Does anyone else think this show is going to boil down to a war being waged on Walter by alternate universe Walter in order to get his son back? Maybe others have already thought of that, but it just occurred to me last night after watching the coming attractions for the new episodes in April. |

That would be a great finale.
I love this show, especially the mythology eps. |

I'd hate it if this show were cancelled. It is one of my favorite shows.
The entire episode I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Olivia to finally see that Peter was from the alt. universe and how she would react. I cannot wait for the flashback episode to see Walter from the past. |

Cool theory EC Stanton. We know "our" Walter is capable of some pretty desperate actions, imagine a Walter whose young son was stolen from him. An episode about the life experiences of the alternate Walter (the "Alter"?) could be great.
