what presidents actually wrote their own speeches in recent years? I think both Reagan and Clinton had excellent writers

Most presidents also familiarize themselves with the speeches enough that a few key words on their hand will help them remember. It's called 'giving a shit about something besides yourself'.

When I was working on my business degree, I took a course on public speaking.
We were graded on 8 speeches given during the semester. During each speech, we were allowed to have one 3 x 5 note card with writing on one side only. I would only critize Palin for writing on her hand and not having a note card laying on the podium. |

It figures you'd flood the board with Obama gaffes.
This is why it's better to be independent - you get to laugh at everyone, not just the other side. |

Three is a flood?
I could really flood the board if I wanted to.... there are plenty of Obama fuck-ups. And I've been a registered Independent for 20 years.... in my state of PA that means I can't vote in the primaries. |

that's why I finally registered as a member of a party - in Texas you can vote in the primary for any party you want to, which means that I could vote for Kaye Baily Huthison if I wanted to, just to throw a wrench into the works
I understand a lot of Republicans voted for Obama in thew Texas primary 'cause they thought McCain could beat him easier than Hillary |

Public policy is best when it is written by corporations and the people corporations pay on K-street. Obama using teleprompters is bad because he is spending more time on policy. Why isn't he clearing weeds on his Illinois estate? This is an outrage. I think that Palin would make an excellent president because she understands that policy is at its best when it is written by the people in corporations. Corporations are always in touch with people and will do the best thing for America. This discussion about the benefits of using a teleprompter is better than discussion of public policy because public policy is handled by corporations. |

He could be getting someone their coffee instead. That's what Clinton said right. |

What Clinton really meant by that coffee statement was that all African-American politicians are inferior in every possible way to white politicians, and as a result, ought to be getting them coffee. Welcome to the board Oblahblah. I can tell we're going to be good friends. |

Oh good another recruit to drive the libtards out!!! This is a win for America.
There is no government that is good government. Obama must be impeached. Then we impeach Biden and kill Pelosi. That is the next step in winning back America. |

You shouldn't make fun of Rich WHITE AMERICANS. There are more of them going to college now than ever! Women don't need degrees. Sarah Palin doesn't have one.
The Ivy League schools are largely equal in gender, and some still tilt male. But at some schools, efforts to balance the numbers have been met with complaints that less-qualified men are being admitted over more-qualified women. In December, the United States Commission on Civil Rights moved to subpoena admissions data from 19 public and private colleges to look at whether they were discriminating against qualified female applicants. |

Clearly, those who should go to university should be the ones who have the money to get in. I can't think of a single other criterion that is more fair. After all, American are entirely self-reliant people. |
