I don't know if it's as much bad as it is weird.
Certainly doesn't fit in with the rest of them and takes China's spot as the themesong outcast. |

I do think, though, that we should wait until the visuals before we pass final judgment. It may be the most fitting music possible, in which case, Russ should be lauded.

Ew, he couldve borrowed from his third unofficial theme cinema from pearl islands if he wanted an opening in a different key. Anything wouldve been better than this. Extremely messy. I like the flute though.

The new theme is used. Stop dissing Russ Landau, if you dont like the theme, leave it at that. He is the reason there IS a theme. |

I absolutely agree with you fairplay.
Ancient Voices has 20 different versions cross the years, and there were maybe 4 or 5 themes that everyone like, and not get criticisms. So, after Tocantins and Samoa (which were absolutely good themes in my opinion), the Heroes vs Villains theme brings something new, unique, heroic, and dramatic. Everyone should wait for the intro, to see how they fits together... And also remember... Russ creates a lot of theme version for a season, but he's not the person who choosing. The producers choose! And I tell you again, we don't know the visuals for the intro... Don't get me wrong, I love the new theme, I've listened to if for nearly 3 hours last day, going to school, between lessons etc.. It is unique, it is new, and has a lot of new voices... If you don't really like it, ok, but stop sayin silly things about Mr. Landau, he always gives the best, put his heart and soul on this job, he's not deserve the words that you are telling here! Be happy that we still have intro, not just intro, new intro every season!!!! |

What's up with the theme? Samoa sounded better!
Although based on the tone of the theme, it seems that the Villains will be shown first in the opening credits. |

Love the first fifteen seconds with the minor (villians) juxtaposed with the following major (heroes) line, would have been epic if Landau followed through in the rest of the song. In consensus with those who think great opening, wimpy ending.

Yeah the beginning would have been good if they had just stayed in the same key for the rest of the song. Now it just sounds kinda messy.
I do hate the theme a bit less after hearing it a couple of times, but I feel like I could have been so much better you know? |

The first few seconds are definitely for the Villains, and the subsequent few seconds are definitely for the Heroes. Unless Russ is trying to do something ironic.
